Summary
Infinity Nikkihas finally revealed all the details about the DIY Workshop, an upcoming feature in Version 1.5 that will allow players to dye their hair and clothing, as well as apply unique patterns to their outfits. WhileInfinity Nikkilaunched in December 2024 with Evolutions, allowing players to have several recolors of the same item, the community hoped that Infold would implement a dye system at some point in the near future.
Following weeks of rumors and speculation, the developers confirmed thatdyes would be coming toInfinity Nikkiby teasing the DIY Workshop with the Bullquet event in Version 1.3. While the initial plan was to debut dyes and housing together, the latter was ultimately pushed back to Summer 2025. Thanks to datamining and leaks,Infinity Nikkiplayers had some inkling of how the DIY Workshop would work in Version 1.5, but it ultimately took an official deep dive from Infold to clarify some of its quirks.
Ahead of Version 1.5,Infold clarifiedhow the DIY Workshop would apply to 3-Star, 4-Star, and5-Star outfits inInfinity Nikki. One of the biggest question marks regarding the new feature was its ability to coexist with Evolutions. Infold had to create a system that was both consumer-friendly while still incentivizing players to evolve outfits inInfinity Nikki. From a creative standpoint, the full potential of the DIY Workshop is showcased in a video shared by dave-not-a-barbarian on theInfinity Nikkisubreddit.
By locking palettes behind Evolutions,Infinity Nikkiplayers are rewarded for investing in their favorite outfits. Six base palettes give stylists up to 48 colors to work with, which is more than enough for matching clothing pieces across different sets. It should be noted that the DIY Workshop currently supports all 5-Star and 4-Star outfits from previous banners, some 3-Star outfits, most Ability Outfits from the Heart of Infinity, and the new outfits coming in Version 1.5. However, the system will expand in subsequentInfinity Nikkiupdatesto include more outfit sets and even individual clothing pieces.
The same can be said for theoverhauled Glow Up feature inInfinity Nikki. Not every outfit will have the Revived tag in Version 1.5, but players should expect to retroactively receive new recolors for their 5-Star, 4-Star, and even 3-Star outfits in future patches. The DIY Workshop will be celebrated with Rainbow and Pattern, a special event in Version 1.5, which will give players rewards for completing dyeing tasks. Version 1.5 is set to launch on April 29 and will last until June 4.
