After finishing the second act of the game, the continent will open up, and theend of the storywill become clear. Here’s exactly what to expect out of the final act of the game and if there is a point of no return.

Is There A Point Of No Return In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33?

While there are multiple moments in the story that tell you there is no turning back or that you should be prepared, there is no point of no return inClair Obscur: Expedition 33. No matter what point you’re at in the story or what area you’re in, you’ll always have the ability to travel back to the continent and continue exploring the optional areas or going back to wherever Esquie can take you.

This is true even up to the end of the game. After you beat the final boss and roll credits, you’ll still be able to go out and explore to your heart’s content. The closest thing to a point of no return is that you may only seeone of the two potential endingsin the game in a single playthrough, with New Game + giving you the chance to see the other ending.

If you load an older save right after seeing the ending you can replay the end of the game and see the other ending, but once you get enough new autosaves this option is unavailable.

What Are You Supposed To Do In Act 3 Of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

At the start of Act 3,Esquie will get the ability to fly, andevery optional piece of content and area is now open to be explored. Act 3 can be either the shortest or the longest act, depending on how much side content you want to do, with all that content also still being there after you roll credits on the main story.

In terms of actual story content you’re supposed to complete in Act 3; the only thing to do is fly Esquie to Lumiere, which is the final area of the game and is also the home to the final boss of the game. You can go straight there once Act 3 starts, but you can also choose to complete as much of the optional content around the content as you want to make sure you’re ready for the final boss. You can go back and complete any content you skipped while focusing on the story thus far, and can also find a lot of new areas with enemies that will challenge your party all the way up to level 99.

While going to Lumiere seems like a point of no return, you can leave the area and return to the continent at any point during this final section of the game, and even right before the final boss if you want. Lumiere isn’t the biggest area to explore, and those who move quickly canget through the story of Act 3 in about two or three hoursto finish out the story before exploring.

Enemies found in Lumiere aren’t much stronger than those found at the end of Act 2, so going straight there is a viable option.
