Jackie Chan “never” intends to retire from acting or doing his stunts

Speaking inan interview with Haute Living, the iconic personality opened up about the upcoming movie and what motivates him to do his stunts or action scenes even at this age. During the conversation, Chan noted that he has been doing his stunts for over 64 years, and he has no intentions of taking a back seat because he never plans to retire from the world of cinema. “Of course, I always do my own stunts. It’s who I am. That’s not changing until the day I retire, which is never! And to be honest, when you’ve done it for 64 years straight, there’s no physical preparation anymore. Everything is in your heart and soul; it is muscle memory,” the actor noted. The star also believes that even though actors can now do almost anything with the help of computers or CGI, there’s often a feeling that something real is missing. Chan added,“It’s a double-edged sword. On one hand, actors become more and more capable of doing impossible stunts with the help of technology, and yet, on the other hand, the concept of danger and limit gets blurred and the audience is numb [to it].”

Although he continues to do his own fighting or chase sequences in the movie, theRush Hourstar doesn’t encourage everyone to put their lives at risk to do stunts the way he did.

The honorary Academy Award-winning actor has been working in the world of cinema since the early 1960s and made his Hollywood debut with the 1973 filmEnter the Dragon. It didn’t take long for him to become a sensation globally because of his epic martial arts sequences, slapstick comedy, and willingness to undertake extremely dangerous stunts.
