Jujutsu Kaisen’sending left fans with a lot of unanswered questions, which definitely disappointed fans, as the story still holds so many mysteries. Recently,Jujutsu Kaisenfans got to witness a new event for the series. This event revealed a lot of exciting information,as Gege Akutami, the creator of the series, unanswered some interesting questions that explain events from the final arc.
Jujutsu Kaisen fans have always been intrigued by the Heian era, the era that Sukuna was originally from before being brought back into the current timeline. The Heian era is filled with mysteries, and has barely been explored by Gege Akutami, despite its huge potential. Sukuna’s past there remains pretty vague, but Gege answered a question concerning Sukuna back then.
Fans were wonderingwhat happened with Sukuna’s bodyback then after this death, and now, Gege has revealed the answer. Here’s what he had to say about what happened to Sukuna’s body during the Heian era of Jujutsu Kaisen:
“When a contract is made with Kenjaku, part of the body becomes a cursed object. For Sukuna, it was his fingers. Other sorcerers have just one part turned into a cursed object, but Sukuna has multiple. After his death, his corpse was supposedly kept by his follower Uraume, and after Uraume died, the body went missing. So it probably wasn’t buried. Maybe someone dug it up?” — Gege Akutami
Gege first explains that anyonewho makes a contract with Kenjakuhas their body part that’s affected become a cursed object, which does not decay. In Sukuna’s case, that was all 20 of his fingers. Uraume was the one who kept watch on Sukuna’s corpse, but Uraume also eventually died, and after that, Gege is pretty vague about what happened, but implies he was just dug up by someone. How the corpse ended up at Tengen’s place is unknown at the moment.
Undoubtedly, learning more about Sukuna’s life and what happened to him back in the Heian Era is definitely interesting. After all, fans also got a few panels of him and Uraume from back then in the final extra chapter of the series. Fans would definitely love to see more of the Heian era if Gege ever decides to drop a one-shot concerning Sukuna and Uraume. There’s a lot to explore story-wise in the Heian era.
