Marvel Rivalshas created some great events in its short history so far, and its latest event is no exception. Player input is a cardinal aspect of Act 3 of the Hellfire Gala Moments Event. With severalMarvel Rivalscharacters involved in the event, some characters have a higher chance of winning the event than others. After all, favoritism is something both developers and players fall into from time to time.
The Hellfire Gala Moments Event is, of course, themed to Season 2’s Hellfire Gala. Set in themutant safe haven of Krakoa, the Hellfire Gala is hosted by the head of the Hellfire Trading Company, Emma Frost. Rewards present in the Hellfire Gala Moments Event are also plentiful, with players able to collect plenty of goodies if they complete missions.
Hellfire Gala Moments Event Gameplay
Acts 1 and 2of the Hellfire Gala Moments Eventgive the most rewards to players. There are three main mission objectives in Act 1, with the various quests rewarding fifty to eighty Chrono Tokens each. Act 2 is much more fun, with players collecting X-Coins to trade for gifts like a new MVP, nameplates, emotes, a spray, and more Chrono Tokens. This mechanic is fairly similar toMarvel Rivals’ battle passes.
But Act 3 is the most exciting aspect of the Hellfire Gala Moments Event. Once again, similar to Act 2 of the event and battle passes, players will complete missions to earn Voting Tokens. These Tokens will be used to vote on which Hero will get a new Hellfire Gala Costume in next year’s Hellfire Gala, which suggests that the Hellfire Galamay become an annual event forMarvel Rivalssimilar to the way it is in the comics.
Players can have eight options to vote for, including Emma Frost, Black Panther, Scarlet Witch, Cloak & Dagger, Wolverine, Black Widow, Hulk and Captain America. Players can vote multiple times, and excess X-Coins can be converted to Voting Tokens. Additionally, players can unlock one Gallery Card after they have voted ten times, with a Card available for each of the aforementioned heroes.
Emma Frost is Poised to be the Hellfire Gala’s Winner
Of the available heroes in the Hellfire Gala Moments Event, Emma Frost is technically the only character without her own Hellfire Gala Costume. WhileEmma Frost is the host of the eventand was introduced alongside the season, she does not have a dedicated outfit for the Gala. Her X-Revolution costume is also not categorized as a Hellfire Gala costume like other heroes who have their own Gala outfits, and her base design shouldn’t count as her new costume.
This missing skin, in addition to complaints about Emma Frost’s base design and her massive fan reception, has her poised to win the vote. Most complaints levied against Emma Frost’s designs more so have to do with how different she looks compared to her comics' design and that her color scheme is incredibly similar to Dagger and Invisible Woman. In fact,Dagger even has a voiceline mentioning the similaritiesin their costumes, suggesting that NetEase is at least aware of the closeness of the designs. Ultimately, only the final tabulated vote will reveal which of these eightMarvel Rivalsheroes will get a Hellfire Gala costume next year. But with so many factors pushing the needle in Emma Frost’s direction, she would be an unsurprising victor of the Hellfire Gala Moments Event.
