The live stream will officially reveal content thatDestiny 2players can expect in The Edge of Fate and Year 8. Bungie will likely share a gameplay trailer for The Edge of Fate, along with a potential blog post detailing the expansion’s content either on May 6 or the following Thursday, May 8, with Bungie’s usual weekly blog post.

The Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate Reveal Event Will Be Streamed on May 6

According toBungie’s previousDestiny 2roadmap tease, The Edge of Fate will be launching sometime in summer 2025, so players won’t have to wait much longer after the reveal event. What’s more, Year 8 is expected to have two major updates and reward passes during its lifecycle. Typically, each Year ofDestiny 2brings one new major destination, one to two six-player raids, one to two three-player dungeons, and various other match-made activities that can be completed to earn weapons and gear that will help raise the player’s power level. The Max Power cap is expected to receive a substantial increase in The Edge of Fate, as players take on more powerful foes and acquire valuable loot.

Initially, The Edge of Fate was known as Codename: Apollo, which is part ofDestiny 2’sCodename: Frontiers planfor 2025 and beyond. Codename: Frontiers includes The Edge of Fate and another expansion, Codename: Behemoth, which is launching sometime in winter 2025.
