Summary

OneMinecraftfan has shared a concept to rework the appearance of The End, suggesting the dimension would be more exciting with multi-layered islands. While The End is meant to be an exciting area forMinecraftplayers to travel to once they fulfill certain requirements, many fans agree it could use some changes.

The open world ofMinecraftfeatures numerous biomes for players to explore, offering a varied gameplay experience. In addition to the plethora of Overworld biomes, the game lets players travel to the Nether and The End, a couple of alternate dimensions different in appearance from what can typically be found in the game. The latter of these is well-known as the home of the Ender Dragon andwhereMinecraftplayers can get Elytra. While many players will venture to the dimension during their playtime, some think it could use some spicing up.

One of these fans is CookieDookie145, who proposed that Mojang add more verticality to The End. To illustrate this, the fan modded the game to cause the terrain generation to create multi-leveled islands. As seen in the screenshots, this made the layout of The End more visually interesting and would potentially require more work to navigate. While only a conceptualization so far, many fans liked the idea, which looked reminiscent of theSky Islands fromZelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Minecraft Fan Concept Adds More Verticality to The End

Since posting The End idea on the game’s subreddit, over 5K users have upvoted the post. In the comments, many fans discussed how the change made the area look better, as many thought the current in-game design appeared “way too flat.” Some pointed out that adding more verticality to outer islands would make using an Elytra much more fun. However, a few gamers noted that this rework for The End could be challenging for those without the item since it would make traversing the dimension more time-consuming.

It is worth noting that this is not the only terrain generation concept fans have suggested. Others have proposed unique biome ideas to make traversal more exciting by varying the terrain. For example, another fan created aVolcano-themed biome forMinecraft. This concept highlighted the odd omission of volcanoes from the game, considering how much lava can be found in the world, and showed what a charred landscape could look like in the game.

Time will tell if Mojang ultimately introduces biomes similar to these fan concepts in future updates. Regardless, the positive reception for more verticality in The End shows there is support for change. Fortunately,Minecraftcontinues to release updates, so hope remains for substantial reworks.
