The following article contains spoilers forMy Hero Academia’s epilogue and post-epilogue arcs.
My Hero Academiafans have reason to be very excited these past few days. In addition toMy Hero Academia: Vigilantes, which is now on air, a databook of the series (My Hero Academia: Ultra Age: The Final Fan Book) has been released with a brand-new chapter.
This new chapter takes place a few years after the epilogue arc and brings massive additions to the lore of the franchise, including the latest information on the Hero Billboard Chart Japan and some things that make it look like Kohei Horikoshi is planning a sequel to the series.
What Are The New Additions To The Franchise?
The databook broughtmassive additions toMy Hero Academia, including information about All For One’s name, Zen Shigaraki, about All Might, about some secondary characters and more. But something that definitely caught the attention of fans was the special chapter featuring Bakugo and Deku that was included in the book.
The chapter, set a few years after the epilogue, is probably more in line with what most fans expected from the end of the story. Many were upset thatDeku ended the story as a teacherand not as the number one hero, even though becoming a teacher actually fits Deku’s personality and character arc.
What Does This Chapter Add To The Story?
In this chapter, it is revealed that Deku is indeed working as a Hero — and he is now Hero Number 4. Though he is now Quirkless, he uses anew Pro Hero suitthat allows him to mimic his former One For All Quirk to some degree.
It tries to mimic various OFA abilities. For example, it has cable extensions that function like his ability Black Whip. It also serves as a prototype where he can try to combine various abilities.
— Kohei Horikoshi
What’s cool about it is that Deku is able to be a true Hero even without any Quirk. He is apparently working under the name “One For All Hero: Deku” — and he is still dating Ochaco. Also, he has already surpassed Bakugo, who is now number 5 (which is a good development, considering thatBakugo was Number 15 in the epilogue).
What Could This New Chapter Mean?
More than just an addition to the story, this new chapter leaves the room open for a sequel, once again led by Midoriya(though it would be nice to follow Bakugo on his way to the top).
Ths doesn’t mean that Horikoshi is working on it right now — on the contrary, he is probably focusing on a horror manga, as he has already mentioned on previous occasions. But it definitely seems that he wants to return to this universe at some point and create more of it. He might even have someone else write a sequel, like he did with Vigilantes, which is a canon prequel to the story.
My Hero Academia Final Season To Be Out Soon
All of this great news comes a few months before the release ofMy Hero Academia Season 8, also known asMy Hero Academia Final Season. This new content could even be added to the final episodes, which would definitely get fans hyped for a possible sequel.

In My Hero Academia, some humans have superpowers called quirks. Izuku Midoriya, nicknamed Deku, is not one of them. Deku has always idolized heroes like the number one hero, All Might, and since he was a child, he has always wanted to be a hero. However, his lack of a quirk has always held him back, but a chance encounter with All Might after discovering a classmate in danger sets Deku on the path to becoming a true hero. My Hero Academia centers around Deku and a class of heroes-in-training at UA. This school shapes young quirk users into future heroes through fake rescue missions, combat training, and other hero-tempering tasks. With young Deku inheriting the “One-For-All” quirk, he will learn what it means to be a true hero while facing off with dastardly supervillains.
