My Hero Academiafans got a ton of exciting information recently, thanks to the release of the final fanbook for the series, called My Hero Academia Ultra Age Book. The author went over various characters here, revealing key bits of information about them, especially details of their lives post-war that even the manga didn’t reveal. New lore about the world of My Hero Academia was revealed to the fans, and even new information about the Hero Billboard Charts was provided. The fanbook was a love letter to the fans by Kohei Horikoshi, and he hoped that the fans think of the times they experienced together throughout the beautiful journey.
Coming overthe exciting information that Horikoshi revealed, one thing that a lot of the fans took special interest in was the reveal of the new Number One USA Hero, who rose to claim the top spot after Star and Stripe, and it seems she has a powerful Quirk of her own.
The New Number One Hero Of The USA In My Hero Academia
Fans of My Hero Academia know very well what the Number One Hero of the USA was capable of. In Cathleen Bate’s fight against Shigaraki Tomura, fans saw her capabilities very well and she could have killed Shigaraki too, had it not been for plot reasons. Her Quirk, New Order, was extremely overpowered, and it gave her the power to bend the laws of nature around her, and essentially the world itself.
I can only set rules for up to two targets at once. — Star and Stripe
Unfortunately, this overpowered Quirk was lost when it self-destructed, following the death of Cathleen Bate. Now, it seems someone else has risen to this position, likely using another overpowered Quirk.
The Quirk Of The New Number One Hero, Agate Minou
Agate Minou Looks Up To Star and Stripe
Fans know very little about the Heroes of the USA, but one thing that Horikoshi made clear is that there are major developments to fill the void left behind by Star and Stripe in the US as well. According to Horikoshi, someone who looks up to Cathleen Bate has now risen and taken the Number One spot, and her name is Agate Minou. Here’s what Horikoshi had to say about her:
Question: Does America have a new Number 1 Hero? What’s their name and quirk?
Horikoshi: A new Number 1 Hero has emerged in the U.S., and her name is Agate Minou. Her quirk is “Fault Line.” She was inspired by Star and Stripe and breaks various barriers to inspire people.
What Is The Quirk Fault Line?
Unfortunately, the power of the Quirk Fault Line remains unknown at this point in time. But, given that it propelled Agate Minou to the Number One spot is practically a confirmation that this quirk is overpowered indeed. Reaching the Number One spot and holding the mantle left behind by Star and Stripe naturally means that this Hero is very overpowered, and fans can only hope that Horikoshi gives them a glimpse of her at some point in the future.
An interesting thing to note isthat another translation for her Quirksuggests the name Discrepancy, which, when taken into context with Fault Line, implies that her power might have to do with reality manipulation. That said, it is all a theory for now. Fans will have to wait and see what her overpowered Quirk truly is.
