Summary
Borderlandsfans looking to unlock some free loot are in luck, as there’s a new redeemable SHiFT code. The new code can be redeemed for 3 Golden Keys in nearly every GearboxBorderlandsgame to date.
WhenBorderlandsgames are still relatively new releases, SHiFT codes tend to be plentiful. With Gearbox Games now preparing for therelease ofBorderlands 4, which is set to arrive in September, it’s a good time for fans to revisit older titles and refresh their arsenal while they’re at it.
Randy Pitchford, CEO of Gearbox, has shared a new SHiFT code with fans: S6X33-K5CF3-JJBJB-JTTBJ-6CZB3. ThisSHiFT codeunlocks three golden keys in most of Gearbox’sBorderlandsgames, includingBorderlands,Borderlands 2,Borderlands 3,Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, andTiny Tina’s Wonderlands. Once redeemed on the Gearbox website, players can boot up any of these games and claim the keys, which can be used to open the Golden chests in Fyrestone, Sanctuary, Concordia, or Brighthoof, depending on the title being played. The value of the gear is randomized, but the maximum quality also differs across games.
Borderlands 4 is Now On the Approach
It’s been nearly six years sinceBorderlands 3reached audiences, and fans of the crude-humor looter shooter are more than ready for a new game.Borderlands 4is, of course, bringing new vault hunters to play as, but it’s also shaking up a lot of other elements of the series that have been a constant.Borderlands 4will send players to a new large planet, Kairos, which should not only provide fans with ample exploration, but should also look pretty impressive, asBorderlands 4utilizes Unreal Engine 5.
However, there are also some changes that have concerned fans.Borderlands 4will change drop rates, which the game’s creative director has said the alterations should make the loot chase the “most satisfying” it’s ever been. The recent State of Play also left fans curious aboutBorderlands 4’s UI, with some claiming it looked boring in comparison to prior entries in the franchise.
WhileBorderlands 3performed well overall, it couldn’t match the reception ofBorderlands 2. Initial performance issues, as well as a story and new characters that left players with mixed opinions, marred the overall experience. It remains to be seen whetherBorderlands 4will be a return to form or even surpass the experience that fans have come to know and love, but in the meantime, they can revisit the classics and score some new goodies.
