In the past, modding has been an important part of just about every Bethesda game, helping extend the lifespan of each title long beyond their initial releases. It’s still early days, but it appears thatOblivion Remasteredwill be the same in this regard.Oblivion Remasteredhad over 200 modsjust days after its release, with talented modders hopping right in to see what they could create in the game. Perhaps even more impressively, Bethesda has confirmed that modding isn’t officially supported for the game, but modders have persevered and prevailed regardless.
A new mod recently released onNexus Modstitled Ghosts of Tamriel allows players to place notes around Cyrodiil, which are represented byOblivion Remastered’s Welkynd Stonesin the game world. These notes can then be read by other players who also have the mod installed, much like the popular feature found in theDark Soulsgames. These notes have always been a unique way for players to interact with each other in what are otherwise single-player experiences, so it’s cool to see them arrive inOblivion Remastered.
This Oblivion Mod Lets Players Leave Notes Around the World
For obvious reasons, players using the mod must be connected to the internet for it to work. It also requires the Oblivion Remastered Script Extender, a key installation that is crucial to numerousOblivion Remasteredmods. Ghosts of Tamriel has a few other cool features worth noting. Players can upvote and downvote messages. If a message gets too many downvotes, then it is automatically removed. Upvoting a message resets its 24-hour timer before it’s removed, allowing the most useful messages to stick around for the long haul.
While modders will undoubtedly do their own thing to keepOblivion Remasteredactive for the foreseeable future, Bethesda is also doing its part to improve the game. It was recently revealed thatBethesda is taking player feedback forOblivion Remasteredimprovements, which is a good sign for the game’s post-launch support. Whether any new content arrives remains to be seen, but it’s more likely that bug fixes will be implemented to fix any outstanding glitches.
