Sonic X Shadow Generationsis now officially a launch title for theNintendo Switch 2. The latest Nintendo Direct event focused entirely on theNintendo Switch 2, revealing the console’s unique features, release date, and some of its games. Post-Direct, a lineup of 21 launch games were confirmed for the Switch 2, with the next-generation console set to release alongside some pretty heavy hitters.

Longtime Nintendo partner Sega has confirmed five games for the Switch 2 so far, and has now revealed yet another launch title for the system.

Sega has confirmed thatSonic X Shadow Generationswill launch for Switch 2 when the console releases on June 5.Sonic X Shadow Generationsis a remaster of the 2011Sonic Generations, but with a brand-new storyline starring Shadow the Hedgehog.Sonic X Shadow Generationsearned mostly positive reviews, and it should make for a great addition to the Switch 2 launch lineup.

Nintendo Switch 2 Launch Games

This brings the total number of Switch 2 launch games up to 22 at the time of this writing, withthree of those games from Sega. BesidesSonic X Shadow Generations, Sega is also bringingPuyo Puyo Tetris 2SandYakuza 0: Director’s Cutto the Switch 2 at launch.Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless ArmyandTwo Point Museumare also in development for the Nintendo Switch 2, but their release dates are still TBA.

TheSwitch 2’s release date is still over a month away, and so it’s entirely possible that more games will be confirmed for the launch lineup.
