Summary

Nintendohas reached the number one spot in an unusual category on Amazon Japan. The particularNintendobestseller continues to perform well both on and off Amazon, with high demand continuing to make units fly off shelves.

Nintendo regularly comes up with unique ideas that draw curiosity from Nintendo fans and even non-gamers. Such is the case with the recent Nintendo Sound Clock Alarmo, whichtook Nintendo fans by complete surprisewhen it was first revealed. After initially being limited to members of the Nintendo Switch Online subscription service, the device has gradually made its way into more markets and a wider level of availability, leading to this new accolade for Nintendo.

On April 21, Nintendo achieved the best-selling spot onAmazon Japanin a category it wouldn’t ordinarily place in: wall clocks. Now thatNintendo Alarmo is available through Amazon, it’s surged up the list in Japan, becoming the best-selling wall clock on the site at the time of writing. It’s a category that Nintendo normally wouldn’t qualify for, and even the Alarmo’s presence on the list is a bit odd, considering the device is an alarm clock intended to be set on a dresser or near a bed, rather than hung on a wall. Nonetheless, though, it’s managed to leave every other wall clock for sale on the site in its dust.

Alarmo Continues to Please Fans

In comparison to the Amazon Japan listing, the device hasn’t had any remarkable achievements on the Amazon store in the US. However, it’s also sold out on Amazon at the time of publication, with only secondary sellers offering it, and at a mark-up, so it’s clearly still popular on the retail platform. With Nintendo fans now eagerly looking forward to thepre-order window for the Nintendo Switch 2 openingand its subsequent release, it’s possible that the sales for Alarmo may die down somewhat, but only time will tell for sure.
