Where to Find Oblivion Gates in Oblivion Remastered

Oblivion Gates are glowing red portals that willappear throughout the mapof Cyrodiil, and players will know that they are near one based on the sky turning red and crackling with lightning. The Oblivion Gate can be found on the map noted as A Gate of Oblivion, with the symbol of Oblivion as its marker. Thefirst Oblivion Gate that players can find is found at Kvatch, which occurs in themain mission: Find the Heirafter delivering the Amulet of Kings to Jauffre in Weynon Priory.

How to Close Oblivion Gates in Oblivion Remastered

The first Oblivion Gate in Kvatch is a great tutorial to show players how Oblivion Gates work and how to close them. It’s worth noting that Oblivion Gatescan be rather difficult, so players should not attempt them unless they are confident in both their armor, weapons, and skills going forward. Upon finding an Oblivion Gate, players will have to fight Daedra and other creatures in order to interact with the portal itself to enter into a fiery hellscape.

The objective of closing an Oblivion Gate is simple, and each Oblivion Gate follows the same structure. Once inside, players must look up to locate the main tower, which is often noted by a sprawling stone tower with glowing markings on the top. Players will need to make their way to this tower and climb it, whereupon reaching the very top, they can pick up a Sigil Stone to destroy the Oblivion Gate and spawnback in Cyrodiil to safety.

There are no drawbacks from not closing Oblivion Gates, as outside of the main quests, they are entirely optional. However, there are some important pieces of loot to notice:
