Summary
While playingThe Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, one player humorously discovered that it was somehow illegal to sit in their own chair. Many players have grown fond of the many oddities and imperfections found in the classic Bethesda RPG, andOblivion Remasteredseems to keep many of these quirky issues intact, much to the joy of the community.
Since its long-rumored shadow drop in late April,Oblivion Remasteredhas been a massive hitfor both Bethesda and Virtuos, with players applauding the game’s improved graphics and gameplay as well as its commitment to the original subject matter. The 2006 release was a defining title of its generation, with its open world and complex NPCs marking major improvements over the previous title, 2002’sThe Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind. While still holding a place in many hearts due to the great strides it made,Oblivionalso remains beloved for its sometimes wacky dialogue and character design, along with plenty of odd glitches, many of which have also made their way toOblivion Remasterednearly two decades later.
In a recent post made to theOblivionsubreddit, user Wor1dConquerer shared an image in which their character is preparing to sit in a chair located in their home. However, when hovering their cursor over the chair in question, the item’s name appears in red, implying that sitting in it would be a crime. While many users took to the comments to share funny quotes and images, none were able to give a reason forthe funnyOblivionissue, with one player noting that entering their home in Bravil is also, bizarrely, marked as a crime.
Oblivion Remastered Player Shows That It’s Illegal to Sit in Their Own Chair
While many players are undoubtedly returning to Cyrodiil after years away, others are jumping into the title for the first time. Veteran players recently warned newcomers tocompleteOblivion’s Kvatch questbefore reaching level 10, stressing that waiting too long increases the difficulty by an almost insurmountable proportion. One player who waited to take on the early main quest until reaching level 15 reported needing nearly 30 health potions after what should have been a relatively quick and easy battle with some Flame Atronachs, Scamps, and Daedroths.
Some of the sillier aspects of the game are welcomed by fans, but not every bug or glitch is a funny one. Thankfully,Bethesda is seekingOblivion Remasteredplayer feedbackto continue improving the title going forward.
