At bookstores, players havea large list of different booksthey can purchase, and since each book seller has a few scrolls or tomes that others don’t have,it’s worth visiting them all. That said, finding these book stores isn’t always easy since they’re not in every town that the player can visit. One bookstore even requires quite a bit of effort to access. Mach-Na’s Books in Cheydinhal
One of the easiest bookstores to find is Mach-Na’s Books in the city of Cheydinhal. To get to the bookstore, players will want to fast travel to or accessthe west gate of the town.
From there, it’s a straight shot forward. Walk down the main road and keep an eye on the right for a purple-tinted store calledMach-Na’s Books.
Mach-Na is an Argonian selling a nice collection of different tomes. The books players can find in her store include:
One of the key items that players will want to grab here isthe Chronicle of Sacrifice. While it debuffs the character considerably, it alsodelivers 100 points of fire damageto a target for two seconds.
First Edition in the Imperial City
The next bookstore on the list is First Edition, which players can find in the Imperial City inThe Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.
To get to the bookstore, players should travel to or fast travel tothe Imperial City Market District. Walk straight down the road and look for theFirst Editionsign on the building to the left.
Phintias is the owner of The First Edition. Players can find the following books in his store:
Phintias has some pretty goodskill books for sale for the magesand rogues out there, but players should definitely consider picking up hisDocument of Purile Banter. Funny name aside, it allows playersto cast Fortify Endurance and Willpoweron themselves for50points for300seconds.
Unfortunately, it does come with some debuffs likeDrain Speechcraft and Personalityon Self by50points for150seconds.
Renoit’s Books in Chorrol
Players will need to head to the far west to the town ofChorrolinThe Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivionto get to the next bookstore. Fast travel to the south gate, then turn left and walk up the road.
Players will see the bookstore,Renoit’s Books, on the right side of the street.
Estelle Renoit is the owner of the bookstore. She has the following books for sale:
The particular item in Estelle’s bookstore to keep an eye on is theStormrider Scroll.It allows the playerto cast Resist Shock on Selfby100%for5seconds. Players can also cause shock damage on touch by100points for2seconds.
Tahm Blackwell in Dunbarrow Cove
Now, getting to the bookstore in Dunbarrow Cove requires quite a bit of effort. Playerswill need to unlock Dunbarrow Covefirst bycompleting a quest associated with the location.
In the quest, players will need to destroy all the undead pirates hiding inside the cove. Once they’re defeated, players can turn the cove into their thieves' guild hideout.
By speaking toDahlia Rackham, players can purchase a few employees who offer certain services. For the bookstore, players should purchase a Security Expert namedTahm Blackwellfor1,000coin.
After purchasing his services, he’ll spawn in Dunbarrow Cove in the far northwest corner where the pirate ship is located. Players can find Tahm selling the following items:
The obvious item of value here is theOpen Very Easy Lockscroll. This basically allows the player to open a very easy lock without having to sacrifice any of their lockpicks. It’s a must-have for any real loot goblin.
Southern Books in Leyawiin
The final bookstore inThe Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivionwill have players traveling south to the town ofLeyawiin. Spawn or travel to the town’s west gate to get started.
Then, turn right and cut through the graveyard to get to the road on the other side. Follow the road for a few feet, and players should see the sign forSouthern Books.

It also allows them to cast Fire Damage on Touch by 100 points for 3 seconds.
