Hermaeus Mora is the Daedra Prince of Forbidden Knowledge, and is the final shrine quest that players will complete inOblivion Remastered. Hermaeus will require players to seek out all 10 in-game races and kill them, trapping their souls in his soul gem. It may sound like a daunting task, especially if you’re trying to stay away from killing innocent NPCs. However, it’s a requirement if you want to complete the Shrine of Hermaeus Mora quest and get the Oghma Infinium book/artifact.
How to Start the Hermaeus Mora Shrine Quest in Oblivion Remastered
The Shrine of Hermaeus Mora is located towards thenorthwest of the Imperial City, in the Jerall Mountains region ofOblivion Remastered. Since this is the last shrine you need to complete to get the final Daedric Artifact, there are a few requirements that need to be fulfilled.
Once the above conditions are fulfilled, players can make their way to the shrine and speak to the Daedric Prince, Hermaeus Mora. Hermaeus will task the players to collect the souls of 10 different species/races in Cyrodiil. To perform this task, he’ll grant playersHermaeus Mora’s Soul Gem and Mora’sSoul TrapSpell. The spell must be cast on the victim before you go ahead and eliminate them, totrap their soul into the soul gem.
Collecting the Souls of 10 Races & Getting the Oghma Infinium Artifact
Finding the NPCs of all ten races can be quite a task, as you’ll need to fast travel around the map looking for them inOblivion Remastered. However, there’s aquick and easy way to complete Hermaeus Mora’s task, and here’s how to do it.
Fast travel to the Peryite’s Shrine, located southeast of the Imperial City. It’s the same shrine that you needed to save the souls of worshipers andget the Spell Breaker shield in return. Once you arrive at the shrine, all the followers of Peryite will still be there, andthey all belong to the ten races in the game. So, cast the Mora’s Soul Trap Spell on each one of them, and eliminate them. Once they’re dead, their soul will be trapped in Hermaeus Mora’s Soul Gem.
Once you’ve collected all the souls of your victims, head back to Hermaeus Mora’s Shrine and offer them up. In return, players will receive the Oghma Infinium artifact inOblivion Remastered. Players must head into their inventory and read the book to choose one of the following paths. All the attributes and skills in the following paths will beincreased by 10 points.
