Summary
As of Chapter 1147 of theOne Piecemanga, the fight against the Gods Knights is officially underway. This evil group of Celestial Dragons recently revealed their plan to the residents of Elbaf and everyone else on the island, which is to kidnap the children and use them as hostages to ensure the loyalty of the Giants of Elbaf to the World Government. Through this, the Giants would be fighting on the side of the Celestial Dragons in the Final War.
This is obviously something that the Straw Hats would be against, which can be seen at the end of the chapter where Robin and Scopper were beginning to spring into thebattle against the Gods Knights. While this was undoubtedly an incredible moment forOne Piece’sElbaf arc, the result of this direct conflict may end up being tragic, so let’s take a look at how Robin and Scopper may be in danger against the Gods Knights.
How Robin And Scopper May Be Facing Imminent Danger
The Strength of the Gods Knights
As the story paves the way for the inevitable clash between the two forces, it seems as if Robin and Scopper may be in a lot of danger once they face the Gods Knights.Between Sommers, Gunko, and Killingham, these three characters have some of the strongest Devil Fruit abilities that have been introduced to theOne Piecestory in terms of offense, defense, and overall powerful abilities.
Sommers has the incredible Thorn-Thorn fruit that gives him the power to materialize invisible and extremely sharp thorns onto anything he desires. This was seen when he covered the sleepwalking Elbaf children with them, preventing any of the other Giants from saving them since a mere touch allowed the thorns to stab them deep. Gunko has the Arrow-Arrow fruit which allows her to create arrows whose path must be followed by her attacks no matter what, ensuring that her attacks will always land.
There’s real emotion in killing!
However, the strongest of these isKillingham’s Qirin Mythical Zoan fruit, which not only allows him to put his targets to sleep but also manifests their greatest fears. While not incredibly strong, these constructs are massive and can be destructive, so putting him up against Robin and Scopper can lead to both of them falling asleep at the worst moment possible. If faced together, the heroes will likely lose against them.
Scopper is remembered as one of the most powerful pirates in history, so he technically shouldn’t have too much of a problem. However, he is far past his prime and the Gods Knights have taken his son, Colon, hostage and may use him as leverage to keep the Mountain Eater at bay. Robin’s true power is her intellect, since her mind is her greatest asset. While her strength is formidable, she hasn’t even unlocked Armament Haki yet, so she can’t do much here, especially against Sommers, who seems to be her most likely opponent. Since her Devil Fruit ability lets her sprout many new limbs, she is at a disadvantage against the power of the Thorn fruit.
Scopper’s First Appearance
One Piece, Chapter 19, “Devil Fruit”
On the other hand, another camp ofOne Piecefans believes that the truth of the matter will be the opposite; thatScopper and Robin will be the inevitable victorsof this clash. The likelihood of this is incredibly low to be fair, since the Elbaf arc still needs a lot of narrative tension, and having these two defeat the Gods Knights before the Monster Trio even comes in to fight is highly unlikely, though it would be incredible to see Robin and Scopper get such a spotlight.
The main reason for this is that Scopper is one of the most revered and notorious pirates in history, belonging to the crew of the only man ever known as the Pirate King and being stated to be on equal standing as him and Rayleigh. This already ensures that Scopper is a master of Haki. Though his having Conqueror’s Haki is still unconfirmed and unlikely, he is obviously a master of the advanced forms of Armament and Observation Haki, the latter of which can be seen with him being the only person on Elbaf to detect the Gods Knight’s arrival.
Although he never really fought seriously against Luffy and Zoro, they could tell he was so strong that they immediately took him seriously, with the former wasting no time intransforming into his Nika form. On the other hand, Nico Robin seems like an odd choice among the Straw Hats to be on the front lines of battle, which was shown at the end of Chapter 1147, where she gets ready to take on Sommers after he defeated Saul. Although she is far weaker than most others right now, this serves as the perfect opportunity for her power-up.
Most fans of the series have been clamoring for a greater focus on Straw Hats besides the Monster Trio, especially in a combat situation. This fight against the Gods Knights may finally give Robin the power-up she has been needing for so long, which would likely come in the form of Armament Haki, which is the only thing that can give her a chance to fight against Sommers and his defensive Devil Fruit. Once Robin awakens her Armament Haki, she may actually stand a chance.
