There have been instances where Eiichiro Oda has insinuated a showdown between two characters, only to switch things up later. Due to this reason, there are many fights that might never happen in One Piece.
7Shanks vs. Shamrock
Both Have Different Priorities
Shanks and Shamrock are the sins of Figarland Garling. Despite both of them belonging to a royal lineage, they led very different lives. Shamrock grew up in Marijoa and eventually becamethe Commander of the Holy Knights. On the other hand, Shanks was raised by the Roger Pirates. He grew up to become one of the Four Emperors of the Sea.
Both Shanks and Shamrock are extremely powerful, and a battle between them would be absolutely phenomenal, but the odds of that happening are next to impossible. As a member of the Holy Knights, it is highly unlikely that Shamrock will hunt down a pirate, especially when they are not actively attacking Marijoa or the Celestial Dragons. Shanks is more interested in getting hold of the One Piece, so the twins will never cross paths.
6Monkey D. Dragon vs. Sakazuki
Dragon Is More Interested In Taking Down The Celestial Dragons
Monkey D. Dragon isthe leader of the Revolutionary Army, and he’s known as the ‘Worst Criminal in the World.’ Dragon’s goal is to overthrow the tyrannical regime and rid the world of evil.
Sakazuki is the Fleet Admiral, and he’s responsible for dealing with pirates and other criminals. Sakazuki bears a great deal of hatred toward Dragon because a) he is the leader of the Revolutionary Army, and b) he left the Marines. Despite his animosity towards Dragon, it is highly likely that the Fleet Admiral will fight Sabo instead. Sabo is Ace’s sworn brother, so it would be poetic if he took down the latter’s killer.
5Enel vs. Anyone
Enel Might Never Return To Earth
Enel was the main antagonist of Skypiea. He was an egotistical megalomaniac who considered himself a god. Enel had the power of the Goro Goro no Mi, a Logia-type Devil Fruit that gave him complete control over lightning. Enel combined its power with Observation Haki, which made him seem omnipotent.
Following his defeat by Luffy in Skypiea, Enel left for the Fairy Vearth on the Ark Maxim. In one of the cover stories, it was confirmed that Enel had reached his destination and gained a sizable following. So, it’s highly unlikely that he will return to Earth and come across one of the top fighters.
4Zoro vs. Sanji
They Care About Each Other
Zoro and Sanji make up two-thirds of the Monster Trio. Both of them are elite combatants, but with distinct styles. Zoro is a swordsman who utilizes the three-sword style, while Sanji prefers using his legs to pulverize the enemies.
For ages, fans have debated who is stronger between the two. Most people believed it was Zoro, but Oda confirmed that they’re equal because they’re the ‘wings of the Pirate King.’ Zoro and Sanji have zero reason to fight each other; in fact, they respect one another. So, this is another fight that will not happen in One Piece.
3Big Mom vs. Luffy
Big Mom Likely Died In Wano
Big Mom was one of the most feared pirates in the world. She commanded a massive pirate crew, which helped her become one of the Four Emperors of the Sea. Big Mom talked to Luffy in the Fish-Man Island arc, where the latter openly mocked the Queen of Totto Land.
But the two didn’t come face-to-face until the Whole Cake Island arc. Unfortunately, Luffy never fought Big Mom seriously, as his main opponent was Katakuri. Oda knew that it was too early for Luffy to beat her. While Big Mom did appear in Wano, she did not fight Luffy.Oda made her fight Eustass Kid and Trafalgar Law, which was rather disappointing because Luffy and Big Mom had bad blood between them.
2Yasopp vs. Usopp

Yasopp is the sniper of the Red Hair Pirates, and his son, Usopp, does the same job for the Straw Hat Pirates. However, there is an enormous gulf between them in terms of strength. Yasopp is an exceptional fighter and one of the top officers of the Red Hair Pirates.
On the other hand, Usopp is weak and meek. He knows his limits and tries to stay out of trouble. Many fans want to see Usopp fight his father, but that may never happen because the Red Hair Pirates seem destined tobattle against the Blackbeard Pirates.
1Dracule Mihawk vs. Roronoa Zoro
Mihawk Might Lose His Title To Someone Else
Dracule Mihawk is the world’s strongest swordsman. He fought Zoro in East Blue, and humiliated him. Mihawk was impressed by Zoro’s resolve, so he decided to spare him. The two met again on Kuriagana Island, but instead of fighting, Mihawk trained Zoro.
Roronoa Zoro has made it clear that he wants to fight Mihawk. However, there is a plausible chance that Mihawk will be beaten by someone else, which would cause him to lose his title. Therefore,Zoro would shift his attention to the personwho conquered Mihawk.
