One needs to keep in mind that Shanks is widely known as “red hair.” More than that, Shanks also named his crew the Red Hair Pirates. In other words, the only defining thing that Shanks Inherited from his mother was something that he attached huge importance to. Shanks must be aware of his mother’s secrets, and she might actually be dead already. But, her legacy likely lives through Shanks himself, which is why he honors her by takingthe moniker Red Hair, or by naming his crew Red Hair Pirates.
