Summary
Quick Links
The world ofOne Pieceis quite dangerous, especially with powerful pirates sailing the seas, dominating them in the Great Pirate Era. Even before the Great Pirate Era was started by the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, the world was quite tumultuous, and strong figures dominated the seas. While some of them perished in the days of the old, others live to tell the tale, and some even hold on to their legendary strength.
WithOne Piecein its Final Saga, the living legends jeep making their appearances one after another, and that truly is phenomenal for the fans to witness, especially since the old living legends carry a certain aura about them.
The Living Legends In The First Half Of One Piece
Garp, Whitebeard, And Rayleigh Made Their Presence Known
When it comes to the living legends of theOne Pieceworld, fans didn’t get to see as many in the first half of One Piece as they did in the second half. Oda certainly highlighted some figures, however. For instance, the likes of Garp were revealed to be strong enough to corner eventhe Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, on multiple occasions. Furthermore, the Sabaody Archipelago arc introduced Silvers Rayleigh to the fans, the man known as the Dark King and a pirate who stood on par with Roger himself.
Seeing your face always makes the scars that I received from that man throb. — Whitebeard
Fans also saw other living legends, such as Sengoku the Buddha, while some others were only heard of, such as Shiki the Golden Lion. All these were confirmed to be monstrously powerful figures of the old era. Perhaps, the strongest living legend in the first half of One Piece was none other than the Great Pirate Edward Newgate, also known as Whitebeard. With the power to destroy the world, Whitebeard was the only pirate who could match Roger in combat.
Oda Has Revealed More Living Legends
Scopper Gaban, Garling Figarland, And Many Others Have Joined In
In the second half ofOne Piece, where the vast majority of the story takes place in the New World, Oda has revealed some very strong individuals to the fans, and of course, they also include the living legends of the world. The biggest of them all was revealed to the fans in the Elbaf arc, and that person is none other than Scopper Gaban, the left-hand of the Pirate King and the man who stood on par with Roger and Rayleigh.
He’s a living legend who stood on par with Roger and Rayleigh, Scopper Gaban! — Giants
Fans also saw Oda introduce yet another living legend, and that is Garling Figarland. Garling is the champion of God Valley, and although not much has been revealed about him, Oda will definitely focus on him a ton in the future.
The Strongest Living Legends
When it comes to the strongest living legend inOne Piece, the likes of Whitebeard and Roger cannot be included anymore as they both passed away. The others were all shown to be quite powerful by Oda, and their level is very similar. But, out of all, Garp, Rayleigh, and Scopper Gaban stand out on top as the mightiest. Hopefully, Oda will give them more spotlight in the latter part of the Final Saga and fans would absolutely love to see that.
