When it comes to the race for the One Piece, Shanks is, by far, the man closest to it. To find the One Piece and reach the Final Island, one needs the four Road Poneglyphs and these artifacts are central to the battles that are fought in the New World. Shanks didn’t have any Road Poneglyphs until recently, but now, he has at least two. Shanks fought Kid near Elbaf recently, and in doing so, he acquired two Road Poneglyphs, one from Kaido and one from Big Mom. Now, Shanks needs two more, but fans forget that he’s already been to Mokomo Dukedom and they should be his friends. Shanks might even have the Poneglyph already. The three main Poneglyphs should be very easy for Shanks to acquire.

Who Will Be The Pirate King?
Undeniably,Luffy will be the man who becomes the Pirate King. However, that’s not to say that Shanks cannot. Shanks has it in him to become the Pirate King. In fact, if Shanks wanted, he could’ve already been the Pirate King. This is implied directly by Buggy as well. But, the truth is that Shanks has a bigger goal to fulfill and that has to do with making sure Nika returns to the world, which he seems to have accomplished already. Shanks himself wants Luffy to be the Pirate King, and that’s a fact.
