When it comes to the biggest mysteries of theOne Pieceworld, fans know that the National Treasure of Marijoa stands as one of the most important ones. It was briefly mentioned in the story when Law fought Doflamingo, but fans haven’t heard much else about it. To this day, fans are eagerly waiting forOda to finally reveal the National Treasure of Marijoa, failing to realize that Oda might have already revealed it to them long ago inOne Piece.
The National Treasure of Marijoa Was Introduced In Dressrosa
The National Treasure of Marijoa was first brought up in One Piece chapter 761, which is when Law was fighting against Doflamingo. While fans don’t know much about what it is right now, Oda has already dropped big enough clues that explain what it truly is. To get a proper hint of it, one only needs to look atwhat Doflamingo states about the National Treasure of Marijoa.
That’s because I know of the existence of the secret treasure that lies in Marijoa! — Doflamingo
Law asked Doflamingo how, despite having fallen from grace as a Celestial Dragon, was he still able to wield tremendous power and even manipulate the likes of the CP0. Doflamingo told Law something very important. According to Doflamingo, the reason why he wields this power is because he knows of the existence of a certain treasure in Marijoa. Doflamingo states that if the existence of this treasure is made public, it would shake the entire world.
He further goes on to state that long ago, he had the opportunityto make use of the National Treasure of Marijoa, and would’ve succeededif he had the Ope Ope no Mi.
Why Imu Is The National Treasure Of Marijoa
Imu Fits The Description Perfectly
While fans might be wondering what the National Treasure is, thinking of it as some sort of artifact, the truth is thatthe National Treasure is actually a person, and none other than Imu Nerona, someone from the Void Century itself. This makes perfect sense, asImu’s very existence as the Kingwould definitely shake the world. Preventing Doflamingo from leaking the secret meant giving him power and the freedom to do what he wanted.
The existence of that treasure will shake the entire world. — Doflamingo
At the same time, the Ope Ope no Mi would’ve helped Doflamingo become the King by making use of the National Treasure simply by virtue of being able to swap personalities with Imu.
How Doflamingo Could’ve Gained The National Treasure of Marijoa
Doflamingo’s plan was rather simple. He didn’t want to be the Pirate King, but actually aimed to take control of the whole world. First and foremost, he wanted to make himself immortal so he would live forever, and then, swap his immortal personality into the body of Imu, taking control of the world through them.
Imu themself most likely used a similar methodto gain power. The Ope Ope no Mi was likely used to make Imu immortal, just as Ivankov stated, and then, Imu likely switched vessels, which is why Oda keeps Imu’s true identity hidden at all times.
