Summary
Quick Links
The Elbaf arc has been excellent so far. There has been a good mix of action and storytelling, so the balance is almost perfect. In the last couple of chapters, the Holy Knights have made headway towards their goal of kidnapping all the kids in Elbaf.
InOne PieceChapter 1147, they began their broadcast in which they explicitly stated that they wanted the Giants to be their slaves so that they would do their bidding in the upcoming war. They have been clear about their demands, and the kids will die if they are not met. While the end of the arc may be a bit far, Oda has already hinted atwhat will happen to the country of Giants.
The Giants Need To Make A Decision To Save The Children
The World Government wants the support of the Giants because they are the strongest race in One Piece. They are taller and physically stronger than other races. These qualities make them invaluable in combat, and that’s precisely why the Giants can swing the pendulum in favor of the side they’re fighting for.
Shepherd Sommers and the other Holy Knightsdon’t want to waste too much time, but they can’t stop unless the Giants make a call. Thankfully, Nico Robin and Scopper Gaban are already en route to fight the Holy Knights and save the country from destruction.
While the matchups haven’t been officially confirmed, it is likely that Nico Robin will fight Sommers. She won’t let Sommers get off easily, especially after what he did to Saul. The other fight will be between Scopper Gaban and Gunko, who has kidnapped Collun, so it only makes sense that his father rescues him from the perilous situation. With Robin and Gaban fighting the two Holy Knights, only Killingham will have his hands free. So, someone else must step up.
Oda Might Have Already Revealed The Fate Of Elbaf
Gaban’s Interaction Hints At Elbaf’s Survival
Before the Holy Knights began their attack on Elbaf, Luffy and Gaban had a short interaction, which came at the time when the former was looking for the key that opened Loki’s chains.Gaban wanted to test Luffy’s mettle, so he made sure to make the young pirate work for the key.
Come and see me again. —Gaban to Luffy
Once Luffy used Gear 5, Gaban stopped fighting. It seemed that he wanted to confirm that Luffy had truly Awakened the power. Before leaving, he told Luffy to come see him if Elbaf was still standing by the time the Straw Hats were leaving. This interaction strongly implies that Elbaf will survive the attack of the Holy Knights. Additionally, Elbaf is a country with a rich history and to eliminate all of it would be outrageous.
The Holy Knights Will Be Beaten
Thebiggest threat to Elbaf is the Holy Knights, but they are not completely invincible. There are three of them, but the heroes have much more firepower. The likes of Luffy, Gaban, Zoro, Sanji, Robin, and Loki are more than enough to deal with the Holy Knights and send them packing.
The biggest problem for the heroes will be finding a counter to the immortality of the Holy Knights. The answer likely lies in Haki. In the Egghead arc, Joyboy’s Haki managed to undo the summoning of the Five Elders. It implies that Haki that is strong enough should nullify the immortality of the Holy Knights.
Luffy and Gaban have elite Conqueror’s Haki, so they should haveno trouble overwhelming the Holy Knights. Zoro and Sanji may not have the same level of control, but that doesn’t mean they can’t damage the enemies with Armament Haki. It is also worth mentioning that Zoro can use Conqueror’s Haki, but he doesn’t have the same level of control as Luffy and Gaban. Loki’s strength remains a mystery, but considering how Shanks was the only one strong enough to put him in chains, there is no denying that he’s an outrageously powerful individual.
