In a recent interview with Emongg (spotted byDexerto), Keller talked about the future ofOverwatch 2. Looking beyond Season 16, the director claimed “monumental” things were in the pipeline. According to Keller, the development team has been listening to feedback and has used that as inspiration to come up with other exciting features. While he admitted Stadium and Perks were “big things for the game,” they did not mark the end of the goals forOverwatch 2. Despite not listing any specifics, Keller said the next few seasons held exciting updates. In addition, he said that “next year is going to be bonkers,” suggesting the development team has things planned out into 2026.

Overwatch 2 Director Talks About the Game’s Future Plans

While it remains to be seen everything Blizzard has planned for the game, players already have some things to anticipate in future seasons. For example, the community learned during the Spotlight event earlier this year that thenext hero coming toOverwatch 2is called Aqua. Unfortunately, few details are known, but he is described as a “water wielder” Support hero.

In addition, Blizzard has provided aroadmap for Stadium inOverwatch 2. Among the highlights, the developer revealed that new hero Freja would become playable in the mode at the mid-Season 16 update. Furthermore, some of the content coming to Stadium in Seasons 17, 18, 19, and beyond was detailed, revealing more heroes and maps that will be added.

With Blizzard seemingly intent on continuing to support Stadium in the months ahead, it will be interesting to see what new content Keller and the rest of the team have planned to grow the game alongside it.
