Torbjorn appears as Gimli, and Mercy, one of theOverwatch 2heroes with many skins, gets a makeover as Galadriel. Lifeweaver and Illari got concepts inspired by the half-elves Elrond and Arwen. At the same time, Widowmaker, Moira, and Sigma have been transformed into Shelob, the Witch King of Angmar, and Saruman.

The second batch of fan art transforms Reinhardt into Sauron, one ofMiddle-earth’s greatest villains. Mei, Sombra, Tracer, and Kiriko have been given skin concepts based on the Hobbits, Samwise, Frodo, Pippin, and Merry, transforming the quartet into one of the races from J.R.R. Tolkien’s beloved universe. In a creative connection, Brigitte’s skin concept depicts her as Eowyn, and Ramattra as Gandalf. This concept in particular stands out for portraying the popular wizard in two different forms, reflecting Ramattra’s changes.

Blizzard has not yet hinted that it plans to release a collaboration based onLord of the Rings. However, with several crossovers released since the first one in 2023, players are waiting to discover if this collab might come in a future update. Meanwhile, theGundam Wing skinshave been released, dressing Mercy, Reaper, Soldier: 76, and Ramattra as some of the iconic mechs from the popular Japanese series. The collaboration was released on April 29, and until May 12 players can purchase the skins through bundles and complete in-game challenges to earn additional cosmetics.
