Summary
APokemonfan has given Eevee a new evolution, adding a Dragon-type Eeveelution to the list of possibilities the unusual pocket monster could have. WhilePokemonfans have designed Dragon-type Eeveelutions in the past, this one draws inspiration from some clever themes and would help to make up for the long neglect of the Eevee evolutionary line.
Pokemonfans continue to ask for new Eeveelutions, as the series hasn’t seen a single new one since Sylveon was added to the franchise back in Generation 6. As for whether a new Eeveelution will ever happen again remains to be seen. Outside ascrapped Eeveelution that was leaked, the plans for Eevee - if there are any - have remained tightly under wraps.
Now,Pokemonfan and artist frustratedoctor has shared their idea for what a Dragon-type Eeveelution would be like, and they’ve provided some excellent reasoning for their concept. Their Dragon-type Eeveelution is called Basileon, which they’ve based partially off of Chinese-style dragons. This Eeveelution gains a more serpentine-like body, rough scales, horns, and a solitary, aggressive personality. Frustratedoctor imagines their Basileon protecting its domain with aPokemon signature movecalled Draconic Fury, a two-stage attack that sends Basileon into the sky before soaring down and hitting its opponent with a draconic blast.
Dragon-Type Eeveelution Would Be Perfect for Pokemon Legends: Z-A
While much ofPokemon Legends: Z-Ahas already leaked, and there’s no indication of a new Eevee joining the game, frustratedoctor makes an excellent case for why it’s the perfect time for a new one. With Sylveon being the only instance of a single Eeveelution being added to the franchise, with all prior additions being made in pairs, it seems right to give Sylveon an opposing counterpart. Further, the artist points out that the last new Eeveelution was added to the franchise inPokemon X and Y, which was set in the Kalos region. With the upcomingPokemon Legends: Z-Areturning to Kalos, it would be a great time to add a single new Eeveelution.
With so many newPokemonin the series, unique mechanics, temporary evolutions, and more shaping the current Pokedex, it seems likeEevee might continue to be neglectedin future games. Fans may have to settle for imagining what could be, at least for now. If creations like frustratedoctor’s and the response from the community are any indication, though, it seems that players aren’t letting go of hopes for Eevee anytime soon.
