Summary
APokemonfan has shared their concept for a Ground-type evolution of Eevee, giving the Pokemon a unique twist based on the region it would appear in. Eevee continues to captivatePokemonfans due to the possibilities of a Pokemon that can evolve into so many different creatures.
While thePokemongames haven’t produced a new Eeveelution in a long time, it’s clear that the developers are aware that Eevee is still extremely popular. In addition to Eevee merchandise releasing regularly, Eevee got the unique honor of being selected over all others as the counterpart of series mascot Pikachu in thePokemon: Let’s Gogames.
Now, aPokemonfan that has been regularly producing new Eeveelutions has shared their idea for what a Ground-type Eeveelution might look like. Dubbing their creation Soileon, Patient-Ambition9826’s Eeveelution has long limbs, upright ears poking out of a hat, and cloudy eyes. Patient-Ambition9826 included some lore and information about the Pokemon, as well as a Shiny variant. According to the artist, the design of this Eeveelution was conceptualized as aregional Pokemonunique to Brazil. Patient-Ambition9826 notes that the hat is based upon a hat that can be seen in the northeastern areas of Brazil. Meanwhile, Soileon appears brown in its standard form and green in its Shiny variant as a reference to the weather and vegetation of the area, with the artist noting that the backlands appear dry and brown, but once the rain arrives, they quickly become extremely green due to the vegetation that grows there under those conditions.
Eeveelution Fanart is Popular, But Concerning
Fans ofPokemonand Eevee in particular tend to have mixed feelings about artistic imaginings on what Eevee could turn into, and this work is no exception to the rule. For years,Pokemonfans wondered why Eevee had gone from receiving a new evolution with almost every generation of the games, only for them to suddenly stop after Sylveon. It later came to light that there had been plans to add anew Eeveelution that was scrapped, as the developers discovered that their idea bore a resemblance to a piece of fanart on the internet. This has led to fans worrying that clever Eeveelution ideas are essentially preventing Eevee from getting its time to shine in the games ever again.
While it looks like the trend is set to continue inPokemon Legends: Z-A, there’s still hope that Eevee could get a new form someday. Even with fans constantly inventing new Eeveelutions,Pokemoncould some day introduce a new typing and an Eeveelution to go with it, reducing the risk of similarities with fan works. However, with theabundance ofPokemonleaksin recent years, there’s still a chance that the developer’s plans could be spoiled. Time will tell if Eevee becomes a focus again.
