Summary
While there have been some incredibly powerful Quirks shown off throughout the story ofMy Hero Academia, the majority of them will feature at least some kind of limitation or drawback to ensure they aren’t too overpowered. If someone is extremely lucky, they can end up obtaining an ability that won’t come with any significant consequences, allowing the user to throw it out without needing to worry too much about the repercussions.
If they are a character who regularly uses their Quirk in combat scenarios, this can make them a terrifying foe to contend with, considering the only way to defeat them is by thinking outside the box to try and overcome their powers. At the same time, those who assume supporting roles can also get a lot from Quirks that don’t damage or harm their body in any way while being used. With that being said, these are the known Quirks inMy Hero Academiathat haven’t been shown to contain serious drawbacks.
1Tail
Ojiro’s Extra Limb Grants Him Enhanced Strength And Durability in Battle
Ojiro’s Tail Quirk may not be all that flashy or in-depth of an ability, but that doesn’t take anything away from how strong it is. With an extra limb attached to him, Ojiro can use his tail either to reach high vantage points, protect against incoming attacks, or to dish out damage with giant tail swings, making him a real force to be reckoned with on the battlefield.
He may have a harder time sitting down compared tohis fellow classmates, but this is easy to overlook, considering how simple yet effective Tail is as an ability. Despite being more of a hand-to-hand fighter, Ojiro is gifted with a serious mobility boost thanks to his Quirk, resulting in him being a pretty versatile hero whose Quirk doesn’t possess the usual risks that tend to come with relying on a Quirk too heavily.
2Float
Nana And Midoriya Have Both Used Float For Evading Enemy Attacks And Initiating Flanks
Though it can take a little practice to get used to, Float is a pretty safe Quirk to use, and if the person using it has a creative enough mind, they can utilize it in a plethora of unique ways to help them outmaneuver an opponent. Nana, who possessed the Quirk first before it was eventually passed to Midoriya, combined Float with One For All to shoot through the air at blistering speeds, even being able to keep up withGran Torino.
From what’s been shown, Float is quite simple to use and doesn’t require a ton of concentration to maintain, which isn’t the case with other airborne Quirks like Air Walk, for example. Since Float doesn’t harm the user in any way when being used, it’s a great ability for rescuing civilians and getting the jump on villains, which Midoriya does on countless occasions thanks to his newfound power.
3Zoom
The Zoom Quirk Is Perfect For An Engineer Like Mei
Mei’s role in U.A. is to be a mechanic and engineer who can quicklydevelop new suits, support gear, and gadgets for the heroes to make use of. Her Quirk, Zoom, which allows her eyes to focus in on something from a long distance, helps let Mei be as accurate as possible when designing a brand-new invention, and unlike other eyesight Quirks, such as Aizawa’s, it won’t affect the user’s vision if it’s used over and over again.
In fact, Mei is free to use Zoom wherever and whenever she wants, and for someone who is always trying to get her products out there, she’s more than happy using it to snoop out potential investors who might be watching her from a distance up in the school stands.
4Rabbit
Ironically, The Rabbit Quirk Makes Mirko Feel Like Some Kind Of Evolved Human
Animalistic Quirkscan always give someone a unique advantage in combat, but Mirio’s Rabbit Quirk takes this to a whole different level. Mirio is an absolute powerhouse, capable of wiping out multiple High-End Nomus with her absurdly powerful legs, while also able to move at lightning speed to ensure she can’t be pinned down by a villain, no matter how quick on the draw they might be.
Thanks to Mirko’s impressive physical stature, she barely even breaks a sweat when running at full speed, and actually quite enjoys being able to use her Quirk as a way to enact justice and sweep out any dangerous villains who are brave enough to take her on. As a result, Rabbit acts as a massive buff which doesn’t come with any baggage or severe downsides to make it harmful for the user.
5Smokescreen
When Used Properly, Smokescreen Can Help Cover Midoriya’s Tracks From An Enemy Villain
Once Midoriya comes to acquirethe Quirks from the previous One For All users, one of his go-to abilities becomes Smokescreen, which was previously used by the sixth Vestige, En. As the name implies, this Quirk unleashes a thick layer of pink smoke, and unless a villain has a Quirk that enhances their vision, they’ll be unable to see the hero coming their way, making it ideal for flank attacks and sudden drop-ins.
When a hero learns how to integrate Smokescreen into their fighting style, as Midoriya demonstrates against Lady Nagant and Shigaraki, it becomes an extremely handy ability to have on standby. Considering it also doesn’t deal any damage to the user’s body or psyche, it’s a Quirk any hero or villain would be happy to have in their arsenal.
6Search
Search Allows The User To Extract All The Information They Need From An Opponent In The Blink Of An Eye
Ragdoll, the original user of the Search Quirk, was able to scan a person, keep them in a kind of digital database, and then seek them out any time she wanted to know where they were. This would end up being an ability which caught the eye of All For One, especially since it could also be used for figuring out an enemy’s weakness, which would be a huge help to him when taking on an army ofPro-Heroesin the final war.
Search is a very straightforward and quite basic Quirk, but one which can be invaluable for those heroes and villains who always find themselves in combat against tough opponents. The best part is, it has no drawbacks to speak of, with it being very fast to use, yet still not having any side effects that will impact the user.
7High-Specs
Becoming Super-Smart Can Only Ever Be A Good Thing
The reason Nezu was able to eventually becomeprincipal of U.A. high school, despite being a literal mouse, is due to his Quirk, High-Specs. Thanks to acquiring this unique ability, Nezu is much smarter than not only animals, but even humans, allowing him to act as a talented strategist for the Pro-Heroes under his command, but also an intelligent caretaker who knows how to keep his students safe.
Nezu’s Quirk is pretty simple in how it works, but it doesn’t exactly have anything that makes it risky or difficult to use, since it’s technically always up and running. While Nezu can end up letting his mind run wild now and again, which feeds into the darker side of his personality, he ultimately has come to learn how to control his quirk so that it can only ever be beneficial to him.
