Red Dead Redemption 2used its prequel status to introduce many new characters, with one of the most notable being Sadie Adler. After the Van der Linde gang comes across the newly widowed Sadie, she joins their ranks. She eventually proves herself as a strong fighter, which leads her to becoming an armed member of Dutch’s group. She’s since become one of the most interesting characters ofRed Dead Redemption 2, and her story may not be over just yet.
Following the events ofRDR2, Sadie’s fate is a mystery. She had expressed the desire to go to South America, but it’s unknown if she made it. Because of the harsh nature of the Wild West, there’s no telling where Sadie could be, butmaking her the protagonist ofRDR3could finally lift the veil on such a mystery.
RDR3 Could Dive Deeper Into the Life of a Bounty Hunter
Sadie’s bounty-hunting prowess is ultimately what leads John Marston to know the whereabouts of Micah Bell. Sadie and John hunt down Micah, leading to the story’s finale. The loss of her husband at the hands ofthe O’Driscoll Boyshas made Sadie quite dangerous. The franchise has featured bounty hunting, but a Sadie-led game would likely make bounty hunting a central mechanic and one of the main points of the story.
RDR3putting Sadie in the spotlight would be the perfect way to bring a complex bounty-focused story to life. She’s truly a loose cannon, and seeing her potentially descend into more violence while trying to move on from her past pain could be compelling. A story that followed her journey to heal while also hunting down bounties could serve as a fascinating contrast, as her job would likely make it practically impossible to truly find peace.Arthur Morgan and John Marston’s storieshave been some of the best-written narratives in gaming, and Sadie’s backstory sets the stage for a third narrative that holds just as much emotional weight.

A Change of Scenery Could Open Exciting Doors
Sadie’s desire to go to South America could introduce a treasure trove of settings and cultures to explore. The Wild West has been at the heart oftheRed Dead Redemptionfranchise, but that doesn’t mean other regions of the Americas can’t be explored.RDR1gave an interesting peek into the Mexican Revolution, so Sadie making her way bounty-hunting through the United States, Mexico, and Central America to pay for her way to one of the many countries in South America isn’t too outlandish of an idea.
South America could also make way for fresh hunting and wildlife encounters, allowing the franchise to fine-tune these mechanics.
From the beaches of Ecuador to Machu Picchu in Peru, the story ofRDR3making its way to South America has a deep well of beautiful scenery to look to for inspiration. Although located in the Caribbean,RDR2’s Guarma levelwas a fun taste of what is possible in terms of exploring different landscapes.
After GTA 6, RDR3 Will Hopefully Be On the Horizon
GTA 6is the first game Rockstar has released sinceRDR2, and the hype is palpable. While exciting, this might also mean thatRDR3is likely a long time away at this point. There’s no way to know for sure, butGTA 6is bound to take up a lot of attentionin the industry for a while. IfRDR3is ever revealed, it will be fascinating to see which character gets to take center stage.
