Summary
A recentGenshin Impactleak has revealed Dahlia as a 4-Star Hydro Sword character, with an ability kit that focuses on buffing Attack Speed. AsGenshin Impactcontinues to finalize Escoffier and Ifa for Version 5.6, players have slowly been getting information about the final two characters of the Natlan era. While it would be wrong to say that HoYoverse has saved the best for last, both Dahlia and Skirk carry a lot of history, excitement, and even expectation.
Skirk inGenshin Impacthas been talked about since Version 1.1, ever since Tartaglia introduced her as his mentor. She made her first in-game appearance in Version 4.2, and is now set to become a playable character in Version 5.7. From a gameplay standpoint, Skirk is a 5-Star Cryo Sword with a powerful ability kit that prioritizes Freeze teams. On the other hand, Dahlia was leaked two years ago as an upcoming Mondstadt character, and manyGenshin Impactfans were wondering when HoYoverse would finally add him to the playable cast.
According to HomDGRat(now going by Kokomi), Dahlia will be a 4-Star Hydro Sword character. While his synergy with Skirk will be minimal, he is designed to be a Support character who grants buffs to Attack Speed. What makesDahlia inGenshin Impactso exciting is that he will be the game’s fourth Hydro 4-Star, as the roster previously only offered Candace, Xingqiu, and Barbara.
Genshin Impact: Upcoming Characters
In terms of how Dahlia could affect the meta, it depends on two things: how strong his Attack Speed buff will be, and if he will offer any additional utility. A dedicated Attack Speed buffer would bring older units back into relevancy, such as Ayato, Yoimiya, or even Wanderer. However, as seen withMika inGenshin Impact, it’s not enough to only provide Attack Speed. Given that Hydro still doesn’t have a true Shielder (not counting Traveler or Lan Yan), it could be a potential niche for Dahlia to fill.
The leak also revealed information about Skirk’s signature weapon, claiming that it would provide bonuses to CRIT RATE, CRIT DMG, and ATK. While any details about its passives are unknown, on paper, it sounds like it could be a highly-coveted Signature Weapon, not unlike Mistsplitter Reforged. Thankfully, the changes made toWeapon Banners inGenshin Impacthave simplified the process of obtaining a Signature Weapon, and HoYoverse has certainly been open about the idea of running stacked banners in the Natlan era. Version 5.7 is expected to come out on June 16, 2025.
