Summary
RuneScape: Dragonwildsis making some changes to multiple in-game events with its upcoming Version 0.7.1.5 patch, increasing the cooldown period between them to make room for more types of content. There is no official release date yet forRuneScape: Dragonwilds' next patch, but it is expected to arrive within the next few days.
Theopen-world survival game variant ofRuneScapecaught a lot of fans of the classic MMORPG unawares, being announced at the tail end of March and shadow dropping in early access on PC on April 15. While its peak concurrent player counts hovered around 50,000 for the first few days following its debut, those numbers had been cut nearly in half by April 22. That’s likely because players have begun running out of things to do in the game’s early build, and these changes seem suited to adding more content as the game continues to approach its full release.
The big changes coming in the patch later this week are centered around three specific events: Being Hunted, Warbands Raiding, and Velgar Attacks, most of which will be occurring less frequently once the patch goes live. Raid parties fromgoblins inRuneScape: Dragonwildshave had their cooldown period doubled, and they will now only form every four days instead of every two. Raids on bases will also be occurring less frequently, with their chance of occurring decreasing from 10 percent to five percent, and beginning players will have a little more time to prepare for them, as it will take 12 in-game days before they have the potential to appear instead of the current nine-day format. Additionally, the cooldown for base raids has increased from every two days to every 3.75 days.
Along with these raids, dragon slayers inRuneScape: Dragonwindscan breathe a little easier, as General Velgar’s attacks are about to be significantly reduced. Only two meteor barrages will be able to strike during Velgar’s special events, down from five, and the dragon’s poison breath will be limited so that it only occurs in strafing runs. The patch will also bring some miscellaneous changes to its user interface, stability, and XP balancing.
While these are just early adjustments, there are plenty of other announced changes coming to the survival game later on. TheRuneScape: Dragonwildsearly access roadmapreleased shortly after the game’s early access launch has highlighted a number of other features, including the addition of the haunting Fellhollow region and its boss dragon, Imaru, skill trees for magic, ranged combat, and farming, and the arrival of new gear, quests,RuneScapelore, and more.
