Outside of the main story ofClair Obscur: Expedition 33, there are lots of side quests that can be completed throughout the continent to helpmake your party strongerthroughout their expedition. One of these side quests can be found fairly early on in the Red Woods location.
While this area seems small, there is a pool in the center where you can pour Chroma in, and the rewards for doing so are not readily apparent. Here’s what happens if you pour Chroma in and if it’s worth the price.
Should You Pour Chroma In The Fountain In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33?
There isn’t much else to do in the Red Wood outside of pouring Chroma into the fountain, and despite the danger warning when entering the area, you can do soas early as you want. It’s recommended yousave up 90,000 to pour it all in right away, no matter where you’re at in the game. There are set increments of how much Chroma you can pour in at a time, and you’ll need to pour in the full amount to get any rewards. The various increments you’ll need to pour are:
Once you pour in the final batch of 50,000, Benisseur will appear and thank you for waking him up,gifting you theRecoveryPicto. Benisseur will stay awake, and you’re able to talk to him whenever you’d like, along with challenging him to a duel.
Should You Kill Benisseur In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33?
It’s recommended you challenge Benisseur to a duel right away, no matter your level. This fight is mostly a gimmick, and youonly need to worry about surviving and not worry about dealing damageand actually killing him. Benisseur only has one attack, the bubble attack, and he will do it a total of seven times. On your turn, only worry about recovering health and reviving allies when needed. While the damage output from Benisseur can be very high, this battle can be won at any level as long as you master dodgingor parrying.
With each attack,Benisseur will shoot fewer and fewer bubbles, and after the seventh attack, he will simply die, and the battle will be over. The rewards for killing Benisseur are:
With a bit of skill, this fight caneasily level upyour party a few times early in the game, and theChroma won for killing him is more than double what you spentto summon him. Grandiose Chroma Catalysts are also fairly rare, and you won’t start finding them until the end of the game, with this being one of the easier ones to obtain.
