How to Find Vaermina’s Shrine in Oblivion Remastered
TheShrine of Vaermina can be found just south of Cheydinhal, on the western point of Lake Poppad. Once at the shrine, players will only be able to commune with Vaermina after reaching Level 5 and by bringing a Black Soul Gem as an offering. The Black Soul Gem can be ahard item to obtain, so here’s a more detailed look to check out before we explain the simple version:
Since Black Soul Gems cannot be purchased, players will have to grab a Grand Soul Gem (purchased from Mages Halls and the Mystic Emporium at the Imperial City Market District). With this Grand Soul Gem and the Soul Trap spell, head to the Dark Fissure, a location south east of Cheydinhal by the Road River, and wait at intervals of 8 days for a purple light to beam down. With this purple light, place the Grand Soul Gem in the altar, use the Soul Trap spell, and acquire the Black Soul Gem to be gifted to Vaermina’s Shrine to start the quest.
How to Easily Get the Orb of Vaermina in Oblivion Remastered
Vaermina’s favor has been gained, and now it’s time to find the wizard Arkved and take back the Orb of Vaermina. This can be achieved by venturing south of Vaermina’s Shrine, where players can find Arkved’s Tower. However, upon entering the tower from the north side, they will notice a hatch on the floor among the grass. Players can enter this hatch to access the Trap Door to Arkved’s Death Quarters, where the Orb of Vaermina will be found on the left as soon as players enter this room.
This may be in the game, but it’s likely a glitch, as the Trap Door to Arkved’s Death Quarters are supposed to only appear after players have navigated through Arkved’s Tower itself, but since it’s here, feel free to grab the orb and return to Vaermina’s Shrine.
If players find Arkved in his bed, they cannot wake him, and killing him may place a bounty on the player’s head, but it will not trigger Vaermina to fail the quest, but it is best to avoid killing Arkved.
How to Get Through Arkved’s Tower in Oblivion Remastered
For players who might not want to go through the easy route to get the Orb of Vaermina, or if this glitch has been patched, they can begin their descent into the unwinding and nightmare halls of Arkved’s Tower, which will be filled withDaedra enemiesand Flame Atronachs. Navigating through Arkved’s Tower is an extremely complex and interesting dungeon due to the nightmare-themed rooms and doors that lead to nowhere. The easiest way to navigate through Arkved’s Tower is to simply follow the map marker and track the route by the enemies that are found along the path. Here is the list of rooms players will enter to grab Vaermina’s Orb:
It might seem like there are a lot of rooms, but it’s far simpler than one might think, and players can easily just navigate through by following the marked path and avoiding detours, even though there are a few chests with some Grand Soul Gems and Gold Coins that might be scattered throughout.
How to Get the Skull of Corruption in Oblivion Remastered
Whether players went through Arkved’s Tower or simply went through the Death Quarters, players should now have the Orb of Vaermina. With the orb, return to the Shrine of Vaermina where she will reward players with the Skull of Corruption, a two-handed staff that can be wielded for dark magic. The Skull of Corruption’s unique ability can be used against NPCs, and not creatures, where it will create a duplicate clone of the NPC that has been hit with the Staff of Corruption. The clone lasts for 30 seconds and essentially forces the target NPC into a fight with a doppelganger.
