5Jaime Lannister

His Mastery Over Combat Shows His Battle IQ

Jaime is one of the most fascinating characters in the series, personifying the good looks that the family was famous for. It helped that his swordfighting skills were in a class of their own and cemented his pride as a Lannister, which was shattered brutally when his dominant hand was cut down by his captors.

Even after this humiliation, Jaime refuses to let himself be dragged down and trains his other arm to regain his skills as a swordfighter. 4Kevan Lannister

One Of The Cooler And More Level-Headed Members Of The Family

One of the most loyal members of the Lannister family who approaches situations with a cool head, it’s easy to see why Kevan was hailed as a smart and worthy advisor to Tywin during the War of the Five Kings. His intelligence and pragmatism are in a class of their own, and it’s a shame that this character didn’t get more chances to showcase his intelligence.

He opposed Cersei’s ascent to the throne and wanted to negotiate for peace with the Starks. Unfortunately, Joffrey’s reckless actions prevented these talks from ever taking place, and Kevan eventually crossed his niece one too many times. 3Cersei Lannister

A Cold And Calculating Queen Who Was Deeply Ambitious

Cersei Lannister is one of the most conniving members of the Lannister familyand a villain fans love to hate. Her incestuous relationship with Jaime Lannister led to the birth of three children who lacked the intelligence of their mother, which was definitely a product of this inbreeding. However, being hopelessly in love with her brother wasn’t enough to discredit her intelligence as a ruler.

She was able to play the game of politics brilliantly as a queen, even if people questioned her rule since she was a woman. Getting rid of political opponents like Margaery Tyrell and Eddard Stark was a bold move on her part that paid off in dividends. Unfortunately, she bit off more than she could chew during her rule and eventually fell at the hands of the new Mad Queen, Daenerys Targaryen.

2Tywin Lannister

A Stern Ruler Whose Only Fault Was Underestimating His Son

When fans think of the Lannister family, the first thing that comes to mind is Tywin’s face. His stern and ruthless actions as the head of the Lannister familymade him a force to be reckoned with, and many people credit him with being the reason why the Lannisters are so feared and revered across Westeros.

His cold and calculating attitude made him a great general and a worthy ruler who filled the coffers of the Lannisters, albeit after incurring some major debts. If there’s one area where Tywin can be faulted, it is the way he treated Tyrion.
