Solo Leveling Producer Reveals How Long It Takes To Create A Solo Leveling Episode
The Process Is A Lot Longer Than What Fans Might Have Expected
Solo Levelingis one of the most recent big series that has generated an incredible amount of hype. It reached a success level no one had really anticipated, and it’s only getting better with each season. The Jeju Island arc of Season 2 really propelled the popularity through the roof.
WithSolo LevelingSeason 2 concluding not too long ago, fans have been wondering more and fate ofSolo LevelingSeason 3.
Recently, the producers ofSolo Leveling, Sota Furuhashi, the producer at Aniplex, and Atsushi Kaneko, the animation producer at A-1 Pictures, responded to many questions from the fans on the r/animation subreddit. Fans were able to get a whole lot of new information thanks to this.
This interaction with the producers has not really fully reassured fans of Season 3’s fate. While some answers from them were hopeful, such as the producers saying “If you want a Season 3, it’s the energy from all of you across these subreddits and fan communities that will help make it happen,” others made fans worried. One of the producers has also revealed how long it takes to create just one Solo Leveling episode, and it’s an outstanding amount of time.
Atsushi Kaneko revealed that it takes about 10 months to create a single episode of the anime, with some taking even longer, up to 12 months. One episode ofSolo Levelingcould take a whole year of work to produce. Here’s what Atsushi Kaneko had to say:
Q: What was the average time it took to complete an episode? And how much time was given for localization (i.e. adapting the Japanese names, like Shun Mizushino, to the original ones, etc.)?
Atsushi Kaneko: Each episode takes about 10 months to complete, with some of the longer ones taking up to 12 months. As for localization, we work hard to achieve a near-simultaneous global launch. Subtitling happens almost around the clock to meet the delivery, and the dubbing process typically takes 2 to 3 weeks per episode.
Of course, it’s important to note that the team wouldn’t be working on only one episode at a time, and multiple episodes would be produced at the same time. But this still shows that it’s going to be a long time until Season 3 is released. At the very least, fans should keep in mind thatSolo LevelingSeason 3 won’t drop before a year’s time.
