This post contains SPOILERS for theSolo Leveling anime and the manhwa.

Summary

The second season ofSolo Levelingwas incredible in every way. It was a non-stop action spectacle that featured not one but several hyped-up battle sequences. Season 2 not only introduced us to some of thestrongest Hunters from around the world, like Liu Zhigang, but it also gave us the much-awaitedfight between Jinwoo and the Ant King.

The Jeju Island Arc definitely threw a strong enemy like the Ant King into the mix, and it was fun seeing Jinwoo overcome this challenge with ease. However, Sung Jinwoo has yet to facethemost evil and despicable human hunters in the series — a fight that will surely be one of the main highlights of Season 3 ofSolo Leveling.

Hwang Dongsoo Will Finally Face Jinwoo In Season 3 OfSolo Leveling

The Duel Will Happen During The International Guild Conference Arc

Hwang Dongsoo is astrong S-Rank Hunter from the U.S. who holds too much pride in his strength. From the very beginning, Dongsoo comes across as a selfish individual who fights only to feed his ego, and, of course, for a huge pile of money. The death of his elder brother at the hands of Jinwoo affected him on some level, but themajorreason why he wants to kill Jinwoois for fun.He has a sinister aura, a trait thatSung II-Hwansensed a few minutes after meeting him. The only reason why Hwang stayed off Jinwoo’s back for this long was because he thought that Jinwoo had died. On top of that, he was sent to a hospital bed after being humbled by Jinwoo’s father.

Hwang couldn’t even leave a scratch on II-Hwan, but his ego was too big to let go of his quest to go after Jinwoo. Regardless, Jinwoo sort of became a big deal across the world while Hwang was resting in a hospital bed. Even Thomas Andre, America’s strongest Hunter, asked Hwang to let go of this madness and let Jinwoo be, at least for a little while. But as expected,Hwang decided to hurt Jinwoononetheless. He knew that going after Jinwoo directly would be stupid, so hedecided to kidnap and kill Jinhoinstead. At the time, Jinwoo was at the International Guild Conference, so it wastheperfect time for Hwang to strike the hammer.

Don’t ever set foot in Korea. I’m not saying this for my son’s sake; I’m saying it for yours. You will never rest in peace, even in death - Sung Il-Hwan to Hwang Dongsoo

The way Hwang tortures Jinho would be difficult for anime fans to handle, and they’dwish for Jinwoo to arrive on the scene and give Hwang the beating of his life. Remember howJinwoo arrived at the last minuteto save the S-Rank Hunters during the Jeju Island Arc? Well, season 3 ofSolo Levelingwill bless fans with a similar experience, asJinwoo will use Shadow Exchange to arrive at the location where Jinho is being held by Hwang.

Jinwoo Defeating His Most Sinful Enemy Would Be A Satisfying Moment For Fans

Hwang Will Meet A Satisfying End

Jinwoo’s fight with Hwang isn’t a long one, but it is incredibly satisfying to watch. Hwang is already one of the mosthated characters ofSolo Leveling, and that hatred will only grow when he tortures Jinho. Fans will crave for Hwang to get humiliated at the hands of Jinwoo, and that’s what they will get. Despite the massive power gap, Hwang will charge at Jinwoo with the intention of killing him.Jinwoo, as expected, will dodge every punch and bring Hwang to his knees.

At the same time, Thomas Andre will also arrive on the scene to save Hwang, but that effort will amount to nothing as Jinwoo will also fight and defeat Thomas Andre. So, Season 3 ofSolo Levelingwill not only feature the much-awaited fight between Hwang and Jinwoo, but it will also featureThomas Andre going against the Shadow Monarch. The fight with Thomas will surely be a spectacle as well, but the most satisfying moment will surely be Hwang meeting his dark fate at the hands of Jinwoo.

Hwang goes after Jinwoo to avenge his brother, but he also gets killed by the same man. On top of that, he ends up joiningJinwoo’s armyas a Shadow Soldier. In the manhwa,Jinwoo names Hwang’s shadow Greed, which is suitable since it was Hwang’s greed for money and power that made the S-Rank Hunter betray his homeland. Now, it would be interesting to see whether the anime adaptation uses the same name for Hwang’s Shadow or if fans will see a different name.
