What Is The Japan Crisis About?

The Japan Crisis arc covers the appearance of an S-rank gate in Japan. The Hunters Association in Japan was incomplete disarray after they learned that an S-rank gate would open in the country. Normally, they would have been more confident of dealing with the situation, but the Japanese Hunters got the short end of the stick in the fourth Jeju Island raid. As a result of the raid, Japan lost more than 5 S-rank Hunters, includingGoto Ryuji, who was considered the strongest Hunterin the country.

Therefore, Japan didn’t have the resources to handle a gate of such high difficulty. So, the higher-ups decided to look elsewhere for help. They approached Yuri Orloff, a Russian S-rank Hunter, to help them with the gate. Yuri Orloff specialized in barriers, and he believed that it was possible to barricade an S-rank gate. Since he knew that the Japanese had no other viable options, he decided to charge them a massive sum. The Japanese officials couldn’t do much, so they had to agree to his outrageous demands.

The S-Rank Gate In Japan Caused A Lot Of Destruction

When the S-rank gate finally opened, Yuri Orloff used his ability to stop monsters from spawning, but he soon realized that it wasn’t going to work. One of the giants broke the barrier with a single strike, which stunned Yuri Orloff. The Hunter tried to conjure another barrier, but the giants were too quick. A giant threw Yuri Orloff in the air and devoured him.

With Orloff gone, Japan was in trouble. They had no choice but to rely on the other Hunters and weapons. Elsewhere, Sung Jinwoo was having a conversation with Yoo Jinhoo about going to Japan. The latter tried to talk the hero out of it, but it was to no avail. Jinwoo believed that if he closed the gate, the name of the Ahjin Guild would be knownaround the world.

Sung Jinwoo Closed The S-rank Gate On His Own

Shortly after reaching Japan,Jinwoo began summoning his Shadows. He knew that there were too many Giants and that he couldn’t cover all the areas at the same time. So, the Hunter ordered his Shadows to help him deal with the enemies. Together, they took down all the giants in next to no time. After beating the giant guarding the gate, Jinwoo entered it to find Legia, the Monarch of the Beginning.

Legia talked to Jinwoo and assured him that he would fight alongside the hero in the war against the Rulers. Legia was desperately trying to convince Jinwoo that he was on his side. However, Sung Jinwoo was able to see through the ruse, and he wasted no time in killing Legia. After the Monarch was dead, the gate finally closed.

The Hero Reached A New Level

Sung Jinwoo beating an S-rank gate all by himself had a positive effect on the Ahjin Guild’s reputation. Everyone was shocked that the leader of the guild had so much power that he was able to solo it. Many fans believe that this was the time that SungJinwoo surpassed National Level Hunters. After all, a regular S-rank Hunter wouldn’t have been able to beat an S-rank gate all by themselves. Following the incident, Sung Jinwoo gained more respect, and even the most famed Hunters took notice of him.
