One of the biggest reasons whySolo LevelingSeason 3 might not drop in 2026 is simply the production of the series.Solo Levelingis a very well-produced anime series, andaccording to the producer Atsushi Kaneko, the series takes about 10 to 12 months to produce an episode. This is a very healthy schedule and ensures that allSolo Levelingepisodes are high quality and that there is no compromise in that department. At the same time, it allows for the animators to work under humane conditions. Here’s what he had to say:
Q: What was the average time it took to complete an episode? And how much time was given for localization (i.e. adapting the Japanese names, like Shun Mizushino, to the original ones, etc.)?
Atsushi Kaneko: Each episode takes about 10 months to complete, with some of the longer ones taking up to 12 months. As for localization, we work hard to achieve a near-simultaneous global launch. Subtitling happens almost around the clock to meet the delivery, and the dubbing process typically takes 2 to 3 weeks per episode.

Solo Leveling Season 3 Needs More Time
Solo LevelingSeason 2 ended just a month ago, which means that the next season of the series won’t drop anytime soon. Most fans expected a 2026 January release date for Solo Leveling Season 3, but that would only give the show a few months of production time. According to the Aniplex Producer, Solo Leveling Season 3 should drop in 2028. Here’s what he had to say:
“I think more than anyone, I am anxiously awaiting a Season 3! But in truth, between Season 1 and Season 2, 220,000 frames of animation were created. So, if it were up to me, I’d say let’s wait until the next Olympics (2028) to see what’s going to happen with a Season 3. But I think that’s more up to Kaneko and A-1 Pictures.”
Now, these are just his personal thoughts and don’t necessarily meanthatSolo LevelingSeason 3 will drop in 2028.But, it is a fact that Solo Leveling Season 3 will take a year’s work, at the very least. The fact that production hasn’t begun yet means that there is no way Season 3 will drop anytime before the summer or fall of 2026.
2027 Would Be The Perfect Release Date For Solo Leveling Season 3
The best release date forSolo LevelingSeason 3would be early 2027. This is because it would ensure a very high level of production for the series and give fans the adaptation they deserve. It would propel Solo Leveling to heights that it never reached before and that’s incredibly exciting.
That’s not to say thatSolo LevelingSeason 3 cannot drop before Summer 2026. It certainly can, but it would come at a huge cost of a drop in quality, which no fan would want. If fans want a masterpiece, then they simply have to wait. All things considered, 2027 would be the best release date for Solo Leveling Season 3.
