Announced via a teaser trailer and on social media, 1047 Games showcased more exhilarating gameplay footage before confirming the Open Beta session would begin on May 22. Players are also able to wishlist the game right now through the PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, and Epic Games storefronts ahead of the Open Beta’s start date.Splitgate 2previously promised “way more” contentwould be added during the Open Beta, including additions to gunplay, movement, and portals. Furthermore, adding to the previous constructive feedback from the Open Alpha, fans asked for the ability to add color to the Map Editor this time around.

Ahead of its full 2025 debut,Splitgate 2has already confirmed the various factionsthat will be populating the shooter, including Sabrask, a band of brute warriors, Meridian, from the planet Venus, and Aeros, the Earth-based faction. Players who were testing the Open Alpha noted that the Firecracker mode, inspired byCall of Duty’s Search and Destroy, and the hardcore mode were their favorite ways to play, adding that the speed mode was also chaotic fun.
