The clip begins with Jung-jae writing something on a paper, seemingly keeping the message a secret by covering it with his hands. Then he passes the paper printed with theSquid Gamesymbols to Wi Ha-joon (Hwang Jun-ho). The paper was passed around to Park Sung-hoon (Hyun-ju), Yang Dong-geun (Young-sik), Yim Si-wan (Myung-gi), Park Gyu-young (Kang No-eul), Kang Ha-neul (Dae-ho), and Jo Yuri (Kim Jun-hee), with each making a similar reaction whenever they see the paper — a look of surprise. Jo Yuri turns the paper to reveal the message and share it with fans and it reads: “Teaser tomorrow.” So, May 6 will be a big day forSquid Gamefanatics.
Squid Gamefans were exalted after seeing the post. They have been waiting for months to learn new details about the anticipated Season 3. However, eagle-eyed fans will surely find some Easter eggs in tomorrow’s trailer. There are rumors thatGi-hun might have a “gut-wrenching” ending— he could die. While this could be heartbreaking, some felt this twist would be great if done right.
Squid Gamefans have been clamoring for fresh details about Season 3, so the announcement of a full teaser is more than welcome. It will be water in the desert for those who have been dying to hear the news as to what will happen to Gi-hun in the final season. Another reason why fans want to see a full trailer is that they want to confirm some of the fan theories circulating online about the show. There arevarious speculations about Season 3, such as the island being a ship, Gi-hun being Oh Il-nam’s son, and Front Man being an undercover cop.
There are also rumors that the games in the third season might include Human Chess, Jack and Jill, and a modified version of Squid Game. This makes sense, Jung-jae previously said that in Season 1, the “most difficult game” he filmed was the last game, which wasSquid Game. However, the worst one andthe “most difficult to shoot” for the entire seasonwas reportedly “the last round” in Season 3. So, who knows, it could be a modified version of Squid Game, which he already found challenging in Season 1 but modified to be more taxing and probably deadly. Fans should stay tuned because the new teaser will surely spark new rounds of discussion about Season 3.
