Andoractor Muhannad Ben Amor has joined the ranks of fans asking EA forStar Wars Battlefront 3. It’s been nearly eight years since EA and DICE’s lastBattlefrontgame came out, and as players have dived back into it, more have started calling for a third entry in the revamped series. Now, the voices demanding aStar Wars Battlefront 2sequel include someone actually involved with theStar Warsfranchise.
Battlefront 2was divisive when it first came out, with many criticizing the game’s heavy reliance on lootboxes and microtransactions. Since then, however, many seem to have grown more appreciative of it thanks to improvements and various post-launch updates. AfterAndor’s second season ended,Battlefront 2’s player count hit its highest number since 2021, adding fuel to the fire of fans hoping for a third game, including at least one cast member.
Amor, who plays Wilmon Paak in the series, joined the chorus ofBattlefront 3demands in an Instagram story that fans quickly screenshotted and shared on Reddit. Amor called onStar Warsto release a thirdBattlefrontgame “ASAP” before following it up with another story showcasing 469 hours inBattlefront 2on PS5. Amor described himself as a “veteran since day one” of the game, and “grew up” playing it, which checks out, as he’s said before, that he was 11 whenRogue Onecame out in 2016, which would mean he would’ve been around 12 for the release ofBattlefront 2. He’s certainly not alone in craving a third game, either, asa petition forBattlefront 3has gained nearly 2,000 signatureson Change.org.
It’s unclear if EA and DICE have a third installment planned, though there’s no shortage of demand for one. Even the originalStar Wars Battlefrontseries never made it to a third entry, asLucasArts reportedly canceled the originalBattlefront 3in 2008despite nearly finishing it. Given that history, EA could see some considerable success in giving fans what they’ve wanted for years but never got. Amor’s story could bring more attention to the issue, too, though any such claims are mere speculation at this point.
In the meantime,Battlefrontfans still have some things to look forward to. Modders are working on getting a playable build of that canceledBattlefront 3game up and running, andAmazon Prime is giving away the originalBattlefront 2in Juneas part of its monthly free games.
