Summary
Following the recent reveal of Taurus forSteel Hunters, developer Wargaming has detailed some of the lore behind the character in a new video. WhileSteel Hunterswas recently launched in early access, the development team is looking to expand its roster of playable Hunters.
As the name suggests,Steel Huntersoffers PvPvE gameplayin which players control enormous mechs. Known as Hunters, these mechanized units can be upgraded, allowing players to better take down their opponents in matches that consist of teams of two. While the game currently has seven Hunters separated into a few factions for players, Taurus will join the action on April 29. Ahead of his release, Wargaming provided a look at the character’s backstory.
In a Hunter Stories video, fans can better understand the lore behind Taurus, an upcomingplayable character inSteel Hunters. The video, narrated by Taurus, talks about his experiences in battle and notes the addictive “feeling” he gets from the action, giving a better idea of his intense personality. In addition, it explores his origins, revealing the rough start he had as a child and that his past drives him forward. While Taurus claims some call him a “maniac,” he believes himself to be a “warrior.”
Steel Hunters Adding Taurus on April 29
Besides the lore video, Wargaming shared a description of Taurus that reads: “Everything starts somewhere…Taurus’s story, therealstory, began when he was just a boy. Pushing through hardships and pain shaped him. And over time he learned to love those two things. They were what helped him survive, they became his fuel. Make no mistake, he does not want your pity. His past made him a warrior, the winner that he is today.”
Taurus has an equally imposing mech to match his personality. As previously revealed, the upcoming Hunter features a design that looks like an enormous horned beast. Specifically,Taurus has a shotgunthat should make him dangerous to deal with in close-range fights. According to the developer, Tarus can be earned as part of the upcoming “Infamous” BattlePass. While he can be unlocked instantly through the Premium BattlePass, there is a free path to get the character as well. However, fans will have to wait until April 29 to check out the character’s abilities in the game. It is worth noting that players can also get Taurus through Constructs beginning in version 0.42.
Fortunately,Steel Huntersis afree-to-play game, making it easier to hop into a match. With the game still in early access, Wargaming has more plans for content as it pushes toward a full release sometime in the future. It will be interesting to see what other Hunters the developer comes up with to add variety to gameplay. So far,Steel Huntersalready has a wide variety of distinct mechs for gamers to use, each with unique loadouts and designs. Taurus looks to add to the list of eye-catching Hunters when he lands in the game soon.
