When the Nintendo Switch 2 was in the earlier stages of development, many fanswondered if the amiibo trend would continuewith the company. Amiibo have been around since the Wii U, later arriving for the 3DS and Nintendo Switch consoles. Nintendo has confirmed that the Switch 2 will be amiibo-compatible, with theStreet Fighter 6amiibo being some of the first confirmed for a game arriving on the system.

At the moment, Capcom and Nintendo haven’t announced if further waves of amiibo will be released based on later additions to theStreet Fighter 6roster. The “Starter Set” name likely indicates that more cards are planned, however. It’s easy to imagine that many fans will happily pick up the amiibo figures, given that they’re a fairly affordable collectible that can celebrate one’s favorite character, but amiibo card demand tends to be more mixed. However, with the entire card set of all 22 characters costing the same as a singleStreet Fighter 6amiibo figure, the card set could be quite popular.
