In fact, theTekken 8Season 2 Update was so badly receivedthat leadership directly apologized to players over the disconnect and promised to work around the clock to fix things. That process happened quickly with an update in April that attempted to address issues that were deemed to be quick fixes. This included increasing the maximum health of characters, adjusting the Heat System, and tweaking moves that were overly powerful. Now, the company has released a second major update, continuing the trend of attempting to improve the overall feel ofTekken 8.

Afterteasing the content of thisTekken 8update, patch 2.01 has finally arrived and introduced some new content for players to enjoy. The big piece to this update is the Tekken Ghost Showdown, a brand-new game mode inside of the Fight Lounge that essentially allows players to battle other ghost characters in real time. Players can use AI learning to have characters battle for them and earn rewards for defeating special ghost characters as well. In addition, Bandai Namco has also added new cosmetic packs to the shop, including Cyber Phantom and Vigilante Tech costumes.

In addition to the new content, the update also brings with it more extensive adjustments forTekken 8’s expansive roster of characters, which can be seen from theofficial patch notes. Following therecentTekken 8emergency update, the development team has started the process of fixing issues which have been regarded as longer-term, including reducing air combo damage and adjusting Heat Burst performance. Certain moves which have been deemed as having a high return for little risk/advantageous situations have also been adjusted for better balance in matches. Chip damage has also been reduced when blocking Heat Smash.

With more work still to come, Bandai Namco is also mixing in new content alongside the various fixes. In fact, the next DLC character has been revealed as Fahkumram, a character that was last seen inTekken 7’s Fated Retribution DLC.Harada has even given fans an update on a potential Waffle House stage, something that has been highly requested but may not end up happening due to the company being seemingly unwilling to take theTekkendirector’s calls.
