With the Void Chaser update,The First Descendantadded a host of Anti-Void Shield and Arche Barrier Vulguses to the Void Vessel Investigation Operation. These elite enemies require more than just firepower to take out. In this situation, Voltia, an Ultimate Beam Rifle with a passive to chain damage through shields and barriers, is the ideal weapon.
By equipping Voltia and optimizing it with the right modules, you can easily clear most of the Void Vessel content. While its power lies in barrier-busting, you can also try versatile builds for early progression or even Void Intercept battles. So, here’s all the best Voltia builds forThe First Descendant.
What is Voltia in The First Descendant?
Voltia is aUltimate Beam Rifleobtained from the Season 2 Battle Pass (Levels 1/17/33/57/73). Every five shots (base), it discharges a Chain Current thatarcs to nearby targets, dealing bonus damagetoAnti-Void Shields and Arche Barriers. While active, all Voltia shots penetrate and damage these defenses.
Though its beam DPS trails some weapons in open combat, Voltiaexcels in Void Vessel and barrier-heavy encounters. Here’s a closer look at each of its stats for you to get a better idea of its capabilities:

Effect
Rifling Reinforcement
Provides a significant DPS boost of upwards of +12% Firearm ATK.
Action and Reaction
Essential for most Beam Rifles. Increases stats by +15% Firearm ATK, +5% Recoil.
Increases Critical Damage significantly, up to +19%.
Better Insight
Replaceable module boosts Crit Rate by 10%. Good for most situations.
Superconductivity Charge
Another essential module for Beam Rifles. Increases Beam Charge Speed by 10%.
For an early game build for Voltia, you should go with these in the first six slots, then enhance withadditional Firearm ATK or reload-speed modsas you unlock capacity. This build not onlymaxes your early barrier-busting powerbut also keeps you supplied through Void Vessel runs.
Charge Amplification
Increases the DPS of Voltia even more by providing +17% Firearm ATK.
Chill Enhancement
Provides +8% Chill ATK to every shot. Makes it viable against Electric-type enemies.
Sharp Precision Shot
Decreases Fire Rate but provides a huge boost to DPS per shot by +6%.
In the late game, you’ll need more stacking Crit and elemental damage with Voltia while sustaining Chain Current uptime. So, you cantry to combine elemental Chill mods for extra barrier damageand use Charge Amplification plus Better Concentration to get better value for a crit damage penalty.
A must-have module for Voltia. Increases Mag size by +12%.
Fire Rate UP
Increases the Fire Rate by +6%, making it much better at farming hordes.
Farming in most shorter missionsrequires better use of AoE or Fire Rate to deal with hordes of Vulguses. So, you need to get Fire Rate UP over elemental or Chill mods to make sure you can spray continuously. Magazine and reload efficiency let you shred through waves in areas like Vespers or White-night Gulch.
Expand Weapon Charge
Void Intercept bosses havemuch bigger HP pools and that too sometimes with shields, so you’ll have to lean into pure barrier penetration and crit in order to get value out of Voltia. Try tomax your Firearm ATK and crit statswith Better Insight/Better Concentration, then add raw DPS with Charge Amplification. Large magazines help to trigger Chain Current more often, making short work of colossi defenses.
