7Kim Chul

Kim Chulwas the leader of the squad thataccidentally ended up in a Red Gate. Instead of leading his squad out of danger, he abandoned the low-ranking hunters first. He then tried to find the dungeon boss, but most members of his team succumbed to the harsh environment or to the relentless attacks from magic beasts.
Kim eventually had to run for his life from the dungeon boss and his minions, leaving every top hunter for dead. Despite making so many mistakes as a leader, Chul had the audacity to get mad at Sung Jinwoo’s squad as they appeared to be thriving without him. He even tried to kill Sung, driven by his wounded pride.The A-rank hunter failed as a leaderand a comrade, but still never felt the slightest bit remorseful for his decisions. His actions in the Red Gate made Kim Chul one of the least likable characters in the series.
6Yuri Orloff

Yuri Orloffis a Russian S-rankerwho uses his hunter powers to enrich himself. While there’s nothing wrong with chasing financial success, Orloff’s twisted methods of achieving it make him a questionable figure. He exploits crises, demands more money from his clients, and feels that he is entitled to special treatment.
Yuri comes off as an obnoxious and arrogant character who lacks the ideological drive of a typical villain. It should not come as a surprise, then, that mostSolo Levelingfans don’t like him.
5Kargalgan
Arrogant Dungeon Boss
Kargalganwas the boss ofHunter Guild Gate. As a high orc shaman, he possessed incredible powers and was capable of overwhelming an entire squad of A-rankers on his own.
Kargalgan was also arrogantand looked down on human beings. He enjoyed torturing his victims before killing them. This dungeon boss was a ruthless and sadistic monster with no sense of mercy or compassion. It was his inherently evil nature, coupled with irredeemable actions, that made him off-putting for most fans of the series.
4Matsumoto Shigeo
Japanese Hunter Association Chairman
Matsumoto Shigeocolluded with Goto Ryujito annihilate Korea’s S-rank hunters. Despite being the leader of a respectable organization, he threw it all away for petty personal gains and caused the downfall of Japan’s hunter community.
We’ve also achieved our ultimate goal: the annihilation of South Korean S-ranks. So pull out of there.
Most of his decisions backfired, and he ultimately failed to fulfill his own plans. Matsumoto was sidelined soon afterward and faded into irrelevance, but not before fans formed an extremely negative opinion of him.
3Hwang Dongsoo
America’s S-Rank Hunter
Once upon a time,Hwang Dongsoowas one of Korea’s besthunters, but he ended up betraying his country for America. His decision even disappointed his brother, Dongsuk, but Dongsoo never felt any guilt as he was hyper-focused on gaining more power.
When Dongsuk died under mysterious circumstances, Dongsoo vowed to exact revenge on Sung Jinwoo and Yoo Jinho. For him, he was always above the law, and he returned to Korea just to kill the duo without ever showing an ounce of respect for the country he had betrayed.
While Dongsoo was far from a good human being, he alsonever truly became an impactful villain. His actions remained petty and personal, so it should surprise no one thatSolo Levelingfans find nothing likable about him.
2Goto Ryuji

Goto Ryujiwas regarded asJapan’s greatest hunter. While he had a good public image, Ryuji was actually a deceitful and evil man who was willing to sacrifice others' lives for his personal benefit. When the Jeju Island raid party was organized, he was expected to lead the squad and ensure that the mission was completed safely.
From the very start, Ryuji had planned to backstab the Korean hunters once the Ant Queen was confirmed to have been killed. As evil as his plans were, perhaps the most disappointing aspect of his character was how Ant King killed him. He washyped up as Japan’s best hunter, but his death was embarrassingly quick. Goto Ryuji never truly had the impact that was expected of him, and most fans felt underwhelmed by his anticlimactic death.
1Lee Minsung
An Obnoxious Movie Star
Lee Minsungis the son of a rich business tycoonand a popular movie star. He is regarded by his fans as one of the most selfless men in the film industry, but deep down, Minsung is a morally bankrupt and self-centered human being. He tries to twist facts to suit his own agenda and to create a favorable public image. After missing the Korean military draft,he joins the Fiend Guildas the vice guild master to divert the criticism he has been receiving.
Furthermore, Minsung’s narcissistic tendencies are also out of control, and he is willing to go to any lengths to get what he wants. He frequently uses his father’s name to get whatever his heart desires without ever paying heed to the consequences of his actions. Perhaps what makes Lee even more intolerable is his ridiculous sense of entitlement and his twisted belief that others must cater to his whims and fancies.
