The Night-Mare is the fifth quest in theBrushes with DeathDLC forKingdom Come: Deliverance 2and the first to take place in Kuttenberg. Players can start this questafter finishing Portrait in Red, when Master Votya says he istraveling back to Kuttenberg. They will find him in his house just to the east of the west gate, and unfortunately, his art commission for Sedletz Monastery has been taken by an old rival, Bellissimo.
How To Get Dirt On Bellissimo - The Night-Mare - KCD2
When thinking of ideas to get Votya his commission back, thebest option is to try and uncover some dirt on Bellissimo. As he stays at thebathhouse by the horse marketin the south-west corner of Kuttenberg, players should head there andtalk to Beatrice, the madam. She will complain about Bellissimo and let Henry know thathis room might be a good place to look. While she cannot give Henry outright permission to snoop around, she does offer a good idea to spend time with one of the girls so that he gains access to the upper floor.
Finding Bellissimo’s Room
The instructions to find Bellissimo’s room are as follows:
Naturally, it isbest to do this at night when everyone is asleep. To skip the first two steps and gain access to the upstairs region,consider asking for the full package at the bathhouse, as Henry and one of the maids will go upstairs.
The Evidence In Bellissimo’s Room
Upon entering Bellissimo’s room, look to theleftwhere there’s awooden cabinet. On top, there is aletterfrom the monastery that can be read.
Steal Bellissimo’s alcohol from his room now to save yourself time later.
That is all that is required, so head back to Votya’s house in the morningwith the evidence.
Gather Items For Henry’s Devil Disguise - The Night-Mare - KCD2
Votya’s plan is to get Bellissimo drunk and then scare him into fleeing the city bydressing Henry up as a devil. To do so, Henry will need tofind the following items.
Naturally, these items can also be stolen or looted. Eggs, for example, can be stolen from chicken coops orfound in nests.
Once players have all these items,head back to Votya’s housefor the next stage of The Night-Mare quest. Handing these items to Votya will grant HenrySpooking Equipment.
How To Get Bellissimo Drunk - The Night-Mare - KCD2
Bellissimo will only get drunk downstairs in the bathhouse if heruns out of his personal stock of alcohol. Therefore, Henry mustreturn to his room to steal it.
Steal Bellissimo’s Alcohol From His Room
Use the same methods from above for sneaking into Bellissimo’s room, but this time you will need to get into his chest.
To do so, eitherpickpocket his keyswhile he sleeps orlockpick the chest. There should be 5Schnappsin there. Take them all.
Get Drunk With Bellissimo In The Bathhouse
After 9 pm at night, players should get an objective notification informing them that they can nowgo to drink with Bellissimo at the bathhouse tavern.
Simplytalk with him to begin. Players will then get various dialogue options, but for the most part, these shouldn’t matter. Some of the later options will be toconvince Bellissimo to drink alone, or Henry can try to secretly pour out his own drink. Theaim is for Henry not to get too drunk.
Getting Bellissimo Back To His Workshop
Bellissimo may eventually get so drunk that hepasses out on the floor. In this case, carry himto his workshop, which has an objective marker. You will have to drop him before opening the doors.
There are other ways for this stage to play out, and Bellissimo may walk back to his workshop by himself.
Once youdrop Bellissimo inside his workshop, the scaring can begin.
Scaring Bellissimo
Henry willchange into his devil’s costume automatically, and most of the scaring is automatic dialogue. Don’t worry about choosing which of Bellissimo’s minor sins to focus on, as you’ll get to come back and select the others after. These include drinking and lying. However,for the skill check, it’s arguably easiest to choose:
Once Bellissimo has been successfully scared and has run away, players shouldreturn to Votya to finish The Night-Mare quest. Thankfully, this is not the last quest forBrushes with Death, and players can ask Master Votya questions to start another.
