While it takes its cues from the original PS1 top-downGrand Theft Autogames,The Precinctputs players in the shoes of a clean-cut beat cop, Nick Cordell, the son of a murdered police captain. As Nick, it’s your job to patrol the city and uphold the law, from issuing parking fines to booking petty and violent criminals. AsThe Precinct’s storyprogresses, Nick will require the backup and support of his fellow officers as he chases down the gang members and uncovers the mysteries surrounding his father’s death. Use the following steps to call in support from the ACPD.

How To Call For Support In The Precinct

When pursuing suspects inThe Precinct, you can call for support to help catch them, whether they’re driving or on foot. The mostchallenging chasesare usually behind the wheel, going after gunmen. It’s best not to waste them chasing down normal unarmed drivers looking to evade arrest. Keep the support options for bank robbers and dangerous gang members. To call in support, you musthold down the RB/R1 button and selectSupport Optionson foot or in a police vehicle.

Helicopter

The helicopter is one of the most reliable ways of keeping up with suspects, whether they are in cars or on foot. The helicopter will shine a spotlight on the suspects and reveal their whereabouts on the minimap.

Police Cruiser

The Police Cruiser will join you in pursuit of the suspect. However, they can be aggressive and ram the suspect off the road, giving the suspect more incentive to evade arrest.

Spike Strips

You can call in spikes to burst the suspect’s tires on the road. However, they only seem to work better on long strips of road, as the suspect can take an alternate route in the city.

Roadblocks

Roadblocks are unlocked in the Policing Tree from the Upgrades menu.The police can set up a roadblock to prevent a suspect from escaping. However, the most dangerous criminals will attempt to ram through.

Riot Van

Riot vans are unlocked in thePolicing Tree from the Upgrades menu.They are slower than Police Cruisers, but are better at ramming a suspect’s vehicle off the road. Only call for a Riot Van if the Police Cruisers aren’t working or if you’re chasing multiple suspects on foot.

Officer Backup

If you’re pursuing a suspect on foot on you can call for officer backup to chase them down. However, they will start shooting as soon as lethal force is approved.

How To Earn Support Tokens In The Precinct

To call in support, Nick mustearn Support Tokens.They are earned based on Nick’s performance when chasing down suspects on foot or in a vehicle. To earn Support Tokens, use the following steps:

Each support unit inThe Precinctcosts Support Tokens. The more advanced backup costs more, but you can store more Support Tokens by unlocking it in thePolicing Tree. The more advanced the support, the more it costs, but in most cases,a helicopterwill resolve most police chases.
