Summary

Boruto: Two Blue Vortexseems to be heading towards one of the best arcs in the series — the main characters inBorutohave shown how strong they have become, but the series will surely introduce even more impressive jutsu from now on.

However,Borutois not just about cool ninjas showing how powerful they are. In the midst of an interesting plot and an amazing world building, the story also spends some time showing how the characters feel about each other. And recently, the story has given a big nod to a possible romance between Boruto Uzumaki and Sarada Uchiha.

Boruto And Sarada Romance Has Been Teased Since The Beginning

As their parents are close friends,Boruto and Sarada have always been close to each other, and the potential romance between them has often been teased. In fact, “BoruSara” supporters — that means, people who think that Boruto and Sarada should eventually start a romantic relationship — make up a large part of the fandom.

For example, at the beginning of the series, Sarada admitted that she and Boruto were similar in some way — back at that time, she used to pretend that they were not as close as they actually were. Many fans took this as a hint that, deep inside, she had romantic feelings for him.

Since Boruto was the type of kid who liked to play pranks on other people, Sarada used to see him as too childish. As they grew up and things got more complicated, Boruto became more serious, but they still have somewhat complementary personalities, which leads many fans to believe that they should end up together.

They Have A Strong Connection to Each Other

As previously mentioned,Boruto and Sarada are childhood friends, and over the course of the story, they have proven that, despite all their differences, they deeply care for each other. Boruto even got his distinctive scar on his right eye when he protected Sarada from Kawaki a few chapters before the timeskip.

From the me who felt unsettled by class rep’s feelings… and from my own feelings towards Boruto. I rejected them all as weaknesses… not realizing that I was also rejecting the power hiding inside me.

— Sarada Uchiha

InBoruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 21, Sarada admits that she has been ignoring her feelings for Boruto — while she doesn’t explicitly say that these are romantic feelings, the chapter seems to suggest a romantic tone on her part, especially as she reflects that she might be jealous that Sumire might like Boruto romantically.

Are Boruto And Sarada Dating?

While Boruto and Sarada would probably make a cute couple, they are not dating, nor will they necessarily be dating in the future. Just as their relationship can be read in a romantic way, it could also be that they see each other as siblings (even though they are not brothers) — let’s not forget that they are still teenagers, and it can be hard to distinguish these two feelings at such a young age. They’ve known each other forever, so a strong bond is expected between them, be it romantic or in a more familial way (and even some jealousy can be expected, since they’re not necessarily emotionally mature yet).

Furthermore, even ifSarada loves Boruto romantically, it doesn’t mean that Boruto is interested in her in the same way. They could both end up in a relationship with someone else. And, finally, even if they really do love each other, it doesn’t mean that they will end up together — something else might prevent them from becoming a couple.

How Strong Could Their Children Eventually Be?

The possibilities are still open, but there seems to be a good chance that Sarada and Boruto will be together as a couple at the end of the story. And in that case, their children would probably be insanely powerful. In fact, after Sarada revealed her true feelings, fans soon started talking about how much potential their kids would have — most comments have humorous tone because many fans think that everyone in Boruto is too powerful now, likethis user on Reddit:

Maybe people from the other 12 universes. Saruto will fight the angels and gods of destruction.

Another useralso made a joke, saying that they could start clans, in reference to how the overpowered Otsutsuki Clan was split into Uchiha, Senju, Uzumaki, and Hyuga after Kaguya Otsutsuki came to Earth.

They might as well start clans like Kaguya did 😁

Jokes or not, their children would probably be so overpowered that it would be boring. Boruto is probably a full Otsutsuki now, and Sarada, who has Otsutsuki ancestry, has just awakened the most overpowered Mangekyo Sharing we have ever seen. The story doesn’t seem to be close to the final arc yet, so both of them are likely to become even more powerful — many already think that Sarada could easily become one of the strongest shinobi ever, butBoruto will probably showwhat he is made of in his anticipated battle with Jura

While it is good that characters are strong, there is a risk that power scaling will get to the point where it becomes meaningless — like, if everyone is so powerful, and they keep getting even more powerful, then what’s the point? They will just find a new way to make characters stronger and stronger. But, of course, this is still just a risk; the story is at an interesting point now, and if the writers can handle it, it has the potential to get even better.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 22will be released on July 13, 2025, on MANGA Plus.
